ummm you do know that the line from bushleaguer was also lifted from someone else and not originally said by Ed, right????

Contrary to popular belief, he also did not coin the phrase "what the fuck" in Porch.

Yeah, that expression is pretty old.

The first time I heard it from a mainstream source was the 1988 DNC when Anne Richards said the same thing about Bush Sr.

Just did a quick google search and the expression goes back as far 1935 when an unattributed conservative referred to FDR's Brain Trust as such.

Barry Switzer ex Cowboys coach said it 1986 and is also attributed with the quote.

No need to get so nasty friend, I was just referencing a post from a few weeks ago where someone else theorized that the phrase WTF got popular in the 90's due to Ed and Porch, figured those of us who had read that thread would get a laugh.

The line was lifted from Ann Richards' speech at the Repub Natl Convention in 1988...
Here's another of her memorable lines from that same speech:

Poor George, he can't help it — he was born with a silver foot in his mouth.

    and:

He was born on third base and thought he hit a triple. [about George Bush, Sr.]
I was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!
