"A Rant"

Things are not as they seem. The world is controlled by a powerful, small elite group of men. Money is what makes the world go round. The many things that Americans think of as luxuries and conveniences are actually modes of control. Things like the media, materialism, religion, voting, and the sense of individually are all placed in front of us so that we do not bother or care to look behind the curtain. Not knowing what is truly controlling our lives is a sense of relief in and of itself. I am afraid that truly knowing what is going on would be such a system shock. To know of all the injustices and the evils that have been perpetrated upon the human race, all in the name of money and control, would be too much to take. The beauty of America and the way that it has been set up is that it gives us so much distractions that we never notice anything of value. Simply put the poor and the middle class feed the ultra elite. In the end the pope is but a person and the president is but a puppet. Government, religion, and the media are the ultimate forms of control. The American Dream is the ultimate vehicle that allows the elite to continue. They give us dreams that were never meant to sail, only float for a little while. While we try to fix the leaks they do what ever they want with no regard for anyone but themselves. In a way thinking for oneself is just an exercise in futility. They have a hold that is so far reaching, so airtight, that simply thinking anymore will not work. The media is the primary avenue they use to march us blindly toward whatever spin they desire. I truly believe that a handful of people are responsible for a majority of the sadness in the world. I feel that 9/11 was an inside job. I believe that the president is merely a puppet used to, along with voting, give the American masses a sense of control. I feel that these elites totally control everything. A handful of people run the whole world as they see fit. I feel that pharmaceutical companies could cure a lot of diseases that afflict us but choose not to, for profit. I do believe in alien life and that the government has covered it up. I feel that religion is false. I feel such a helplessness in this place. I do believe that human beings are relatively good in nature. But given an opportunity greed will always prevail. I want to believe that things will get better but don’t really believe it will.
I am a nothing dreaming of something unknown.

Since we moved down to Florida from NY I started thinking about how a small group of people on a plantation had to control a large group of people. They HAD to convince those people with intimidation, deprivation, cruelty, lack of food and other basics, that they couldn't rebel against the small group of people up in the house. Mind control as well as deprivation. This seems to be a process no different from what you're saying.
There were more people living on those pieces of property by the fields but they didn't take over because of the way they were kept down in their minds and in their living struggle. This technique worked for those few people comfortable up in the house. I could see this as spilling over into a larger community as a form of control...
It's evil because it was so consciously done.
hello brother, were we seperated at birth? lol
great job. inspires thought.

It is a sad and frustrating state of mind isn't it? The only way I've come up with to counteract it is to concentrate on two things: the grace that is in natural beauty and our own connection to it, and being true to my own self. Now I can't always allow that "truth" to shine on the outside, and I'm still learning how to control it to the point that it doesn't affect my employment situation or the number of friends I have, but I'm making some strides.
There are people in the world who are good and who feel exactly as you and I do. Concentrate on interacting with those people, and surrounding yourself with those people, as much as you can. It's not always possible to do, but it does help a lot when it happens.
Concentrating on the natural beauty we have in this world - which they haven't quite controlled YET, and on what is inside of me - as a person, are the only two things that have kept my sanity. Reading Taoist writings and Zen writings has helped on the inner self discovery. Sitting in a beautiful, natural surrounding and contemplating the beauty in the world has helped on the outer self. It has brought me a great deal of peace with our world as it is.
It's a learning process. Feel free to chat any time if you want. I hear everything you're saying.
