Whoever said the only reason why they play Chicago is because of ED is an idiot! It's only one of the greatest and cleanest big cities in the world! And there isn't any band of any relevance that ever passes up Chicago. In fact for a lot of bands(the WHO, U2, RADIOHEAD) it's their favorite place to play in the world. I'm not sure what ticketmaster your on, but there are absolutely no tix left for Chicago 1, and there are singles left in the last rows for Chicago 2 which will be completely sold out come showtime. Lastly you do realize the UC is one of the biggest indoor facilities in the country holding over 22,000 for concerts. So to sell-out 2 nite's in this economy in a place that I'll admit is horrible for concerts is pretty damn imprerssive.

ps: I've been followong this band all over the world since the 2nd Lollapalooza and have seen over 30 shows in 7 different countries on 3 different continents. I know good for me, but what I can't understand being a member of this fan club (and people are entitled to their opinions and complaints) is why this fan club has the biggest amount of bitches, whiners, and complainers of any other fanbase on the planet? For me it's simple if they aren't playing your city either figure out how to see them or don't! If you don't like their new music don't buy it! If the ticket prices are too much again don't go! Just do us all a favor stop being a bitch about it, cause it's not going to change one damn thing! I mean really has any of the bitching really changed anything over the last 15 years? For everyone that doesn't bitch which is actually the majority enjoy the shows there may not be many left!?

So you're bitching about other people bitching? Get over it, people are morons. Don't become one by doing the same.

If that's what you got out of the OP was bitching, then your ability to comprehend is severly lacking. The OP was all factual evidence about the great city of Chicago and the 2 upcoming shows! The PS was my own personal opinion of trying to understand why the bitching is the constant on this board? Hope that helps you comprehend what I originally wrote a little better.

What's even more funny and too back up the PS part of the OP which I was not whining but believe what you want(why don't you actually make an intelligent statement regarding the OP or the PS) is everyone responding to the thread "Has PJ become an elitist band"? My god this is why so many people me included after today will no longer read this garbage. This used to be the best fan club in the world, Fortunately the times have changed and so has the band, it's a shame some of their fans still think it's 1991.

OH, I agree with you about everyone else bitching. Especially on that thread. But I also think that you (both of us, I must admit) are adding to the insanity. It's hard to keep quiet with all the morons bitching about what you mention. Doesn't it make you want to slap someone? :o

I can kind of understand where some people are coming from though. Many people, it seems, got into this band not only for their music, but the way they wore their beliefs on their sleeves for everyone to see - and tried to do something about their beliefs, and stand behind them. Now, it seems the fans are being left to wonder about band plans, about rising ticket prices, Target deals, and the communication from the band is minimal at best. For me, I know the annual $25 is worth the access to this board, holiday single, and access to assorted goodies. Myself, it's not going to make or break my day/week/life, but I personally would love to have some insight into why some of these things I mentioned are the way they are - even 'the band wants to make more money' is a legitimate reason. I'd just love some communication.

They don't owe you a damn thing! That's what most of you complainers don't understand, and has Eddie ever spoken directly to you( except through his lyrics)? What they do and how they do it is entirely up to them and if you don't like it or it's not the way it used to be or convenient enough for you, then just stop being a PJ fan! It's really that simple, it's not rocket science, but every tour, every album, every announcement is met with this idiocy that gets to be just laughable. And as I said in the PS part of the OP fans better enjoy the band because this isn't going to be a Rolling Stones type of ending!

Actually, there a lot of tickets left, seeing that the scalpers bought up the majority of the tickets. I think the scalpers are going to lose out on this show.

Foxy - I have spoken with him also and during our conversation we never once discussed this fan club or anything that I have mentioned. What we did talk about was Pete Townshend and the WHO. I'm quite sure anybody that has spoken to any of the guys over the last 19 years, they didn't ask for your approval of how they were going to conduct themselves as a band. Yes they care about their fans, but no more then the WHO cared about their fans or U2 cares about their fans. And if you believe that to not be true then your blind, and thats why you can't handle the changes that the band has made over the years.

who is saying they owe us something? I love this band and will stand behind them damn near 100% on everything. There have only been a few times that I have not agreed with where they are coming from.
I fully understand and support why they are going with Target on this record. the music Industry sucks !! They want to make some money. good on them !!
What you ( and many others ) seem to be missing is that it does suck for some who have followed this band from the get go and spent 1000's upon 1000's of dollars to support them over the years now have to spend 1000's of dollars to see their favorite band one show !
    I'm serious.
I'm going to try for a show or two in Cali and its going to cost me 1,900 dollars just to get there. Thats not counting food.
But hey, I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and they are not coming near me. ( Philly is a 9 to 10 hour drive and i think those are going to be hard tickets to score ) I'm not "bitching" "whinning" or "Complaining". Could i drive 6 hours to see them in Chicago ? Sure. I have done so many many times. But i would like to see them AFTER the album drops so i KNOW the new songs.

Anyway, its not bitching , or complaining to express displeasure with not being able to see your favorite band.
It's just that, expressing displeasure. I love the band and the 10C for every little thing they do for us, that dont mean i have to be happy about spending 2000 bucks for me and my GF to be able to see them. The biggest problem here is this, I will try for west coast tickets, and i hope i get them. BUT we all know there is a chance that they will announce more dates later, which will be closer and i wouldnt have to spend that kind of money. BUT what if they dont ? It's a big gamble with a pretty big price tag. This could be avoided if they just announced all the shows at once like they used to and like MOST bands still do.

BTW, was that a good enough response for you?
or are you going to slam me and my "un-intelligent" bitch fest ?

have a good day, see you at the shows.

    -Steve
    Peace, Love.

Steve- You have some valid points, but unfortunately as I have stated it is what it is, and if it's not going to work for you then I'm sorry, but on the other hand you bring up and any way you slice it, its a complaint that you won't drive 6 hours to Chicago which is your closest destination because you won't know the words to the new songs?? Are you kidding me, you sound like a 10 year old who got a new bike for Christmas, but couldn't ride it til' spring? Again things are different and they have been for 3 or 4 tours now, which probably spans a good 10 years, yet it's the same bitches and complaints each and every time. So really for the last time either figure it out or just stfu! Again for most, actually everyone PEACE & JOY...VITO.

So let me get this straight...you're trying to sell your tickets to the Chicago shows? You should really go. The boys put on one hell of a show.
this city is so filthy, like my mind in ways

Washed- I sense your trying to be funny, but why don't you actually put your mind to good use and make an intellectual comment on the OP or the PS. And if you weren't trying to be funny I will be there both nites w/ my wife and if I'm in the first 10 rows or the 300 section I will treasure those shows as I have all the others. For real goodbye and good luck...VITO.

I'm pretty sure i didnt insult you in my post. if you want to go that route, I'm game.
i dont feel its out of line in any way to say that i would like to know the new material so i can fully enjoy the show. but whatever. we disagree on that, no biggie.
it has not been like this for the past 3 or 4 tours now. try the 2008 tour, thats it. in 2006 they toured pretty heavy, and announced all the shows at once. doing that would cut down a lot on these "bitching" threads.

now, about telling me to STFU............... dont be a dick.
in many of your posts you say "make an intellectual comment about the OP" I did. and i did it without telling you to STFU.
