What difference does it make if she likes the band and is cool? If you check out the age thread you'll notice that a large segment of PJ's fans range from the thirties through the 50's. I think there was even one person who was 60. Grow up.

Growing up as an only-child in a single-parent home, my Mom listened to Pearl Jam whether she wanted to or not. She bought me Ten on tape 17 years ago (wow!) and has been to a number of shows in the past decade.

Thankfully Pearl Jam appeals to a very wide demographic and has a sound that is accessible even to people whom may have heard of them or anything by them.

My Mom went to Council Bluffs Riot Act show. We sat separately as I couldn't let her have my wife's fanclub seat with me! She's 52 and is a pretty big Rolling Stones, REM and PJ fan. She enjoyed it most definitely. Good lord back in the day I must have made her watch Unplugged a hundred times.

My Mom went to to the Virginia Beach show last year, but mostly because she loves Kings of Leon. Sadly, she was in the grass with my brother while I was front row (thanks, 10C Lottery!). Apparently, my Mom loved KOL and watched only the first 6 songs of Pearl Jam, then left.

Also, I took your Mom to a show once. Afterwards I showed her my Dirty Frank.

at a pj show, it does not matter if you are 5 or 105 years old. if you like pearl jam and are respectful of the people you sit near, you are welcome.

hope your mom enjoys the show!

I didn't take my mom per say, but we did go together to 2 shows.

It was my dad, my brother, my mom, and I went to East Rutherford 2 in 06 and MSG 1 in 08.

it wasn't bad. I am a way bigger fan than she was. She got drunk pretty early on in the concert and was greatly enjoying herself.

I don't see why it would be a problem.

I took my father to Randalls Island nite 2 in 1996....at that time he was 59 years old, and the younger kids (13-18) were passing remarks....

He loved the show....unfortunately my father passed away 3 years later, I WOULD LOVE TO FOR HIM TO STILL BE AROUND TO BRING HIM TO ANOTHER SHOW!

    Nice thread title!

My mom is a die-hard PJ fan so I grew up listening to them then she "dragged" me to a PJ show in 2003 when I was 16 because my dad couldn't go and I fell in love with them. Now we are both obsessed and we always go together. It has actually brought us closer. We saw REM last year and in a month we are seeing Kings of Leon.

I went with both of my parents to Eddie in Nashville last month. I'm 23 and my parents are in their late 50's. We also all waited at the tour bus together and everyone thought it was pretty cool how me and my parents (especially my mom) love PJ.

Go for it and screw the people bitch about the "older" fans being lame!
If I had known then what I know now...

I go to bruce springsteen with my mom and don't give a shit what people think. Its fun to hear stories of old bruce concerts. Why you so worried bout taking your mom to a pj concert. look around dude, most pj fans are 30-50 years old.

I took my mom (who is in her 60s) to Eddie Vedder last year, and hopefully will get tickets to PJ this year and will take to that one too. She LOVED EV, and said she finally understood WHY I love Ed so much. She said she never realized how talented he was. Also mentioned was how good looking Ed is, which is a whole 'nother conversation. :D
    Its good to be back!!

P.S Don't go to Wrigley. It's a dump. You have to use a trolf to take a piss. If I were you, I'd go to see the White Sox.

I took my mum to the second sydney show in 03, it was great to share that with her and she had a mad time. I wouldnt do it again cause it cramps my style a little (i could give a crap what people think though...nothing like that). But do it man its a great thing.
