    The odds are highly in favour of other life existing, so I don't see why the odds wouldn't be similarly in favour of intelligent life existing too. To me it seems naive and a bit human-centric to honestly believe we are the only beings in the ENTIRE universe which possess intelligence.

    I believe in this as well to an extent - just because of the thought of the unknown. But, it's far more realistic to believe there is life out there but not intelligent life. The odds of intelligent life forming on our planet were BILLIONS to one. Now extrapolate that - it's very very hard. Anyway, enough existentialism meets actual science. Halloween show is happening - count on it.

    okay.. maybe i should have phrased my question like this:
    when aliens arrive to earth in late October, and after waiting in line to pick up their 10c tickets for the 3rd Philly date, that date will be ________

    I don't want to be a hater, but I'm hoping it's the 29th.. as much as I'd LOVE a halloween show, I won't be in town.. I know.. 3 days in a row is unheard of....

    What's your idea of intelligent life? It's not like humans are the only species on the planet w/ intelligence. Dolphins and chimps and crows and my cat and this damn red light at the bottom of this giant hill in the middle of East Bumblefuck, PA on Rt 22 that always turns red just as I get there going 70 mph: all count as having intelligence in my book.

    BILLIONS to at least 6 then, by my count. :)

    While I hope for a 'ween show, my pocketbook hopes more for no more Philly. I can't say no to Philly ever, but just ouch.

    i'm guessing their numbers are in the 400xxx because they seem to get everything so much later than us... but since they created the internet, they probably have been downloading music since day 1 (hence the napster icon) so maybe they rigged the 10c number system and are in the 100xxx... just sayin. effin aliens.

    Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it. I've heard this redundant argument, philosophy, a thousand times and I've read Ishmael. I get it. Maybe some creatures are more intelligent than us but chose not to do what we do. I get it. I'm talking the ability of cognitive thought, and develop. No dolphin can describe to you string theory. I'm not talking about philosophy here, and what Aristotle, Plato, Aquinas or any of them. I'm talking the ability to do something such as communicate through something universal - such as math. I'm done here. I know both sides of this fence - I'm just saying.....Back on topic now, which I don't think there is one.

    We have absolutely no way of figuring out what's going through a dolphin's head, so I personally am reserving judgment on them until we have some way of brain-reading. Who knows - maybe they're having the same discussion? :lol:

    IF a third date, as i hope, gets announced....i too believe that more than likely, it will be the 31st.
    it won't be the 29th b/c pj just don't do 3 nights in a row....it could be the 27th, but i can't see them adding a tuesday show, so yea....in all likelihood, the 31st, tho i guess too it could be november 1st?

    I was on a Christian retreat to OC, NJ once in high school w/ my girlfriend. They were nuts. I saw a tshirt in a store on the boardwalk w/ jesus on it and the line: "Jesus, save me from your followers". I was in line at the register w/ my wallet in one hand and the shirt in the other by the time my g/f caught me and forced me to put it back.

    My point is: if aliens worship Jesus, then would that tshirt I found 13 years ago protect me from anal probes?

    Do aliens worship Jesus?

    I think I will get a custom t-shirt "Aliens For Jesus".

    I was on a Christian retreat to OC, NJ once in high school w/ my girlfriend. They were nuts. I saw a tshirt in a store on the boardwalk w/ jesus on it and the line: "Jesus, save me from your followers". I was in line at the register w/ my wallet in one hand and the shirt in the other by the time my g/f caught me and forced me to put it back.

    My point is: if aliens worship Jesus, then would that tshirt I found 13 years ago protect me from anal probes?

    I remember I was on a church youth group trip from NY to Alabama to help poor people out with fixing up their homes for a week. We were teenagers, so we did what little we could.

    Being the wiseass I was (and still am) I asked the woman who shaparoned our group "if god asked you to leave your husband, would you?"
