public transportation from nyc to spectrum?

So I really want to go to at least one of the philly shows. I live in NYC so I was just wondering is there a way to get there by public transportation? If I take amtrak how close will that get me to the spectrum? Sorry if this is a completely noob question. Thanks!

Well Amtrak will bring you into 30th Street Station in Center City (aka, downtown Philly). From there its actually pretty easy - first you have to take a short (2 min) subway ride on the MFL (Market Frankford Line) to the CIty Hall stop. At that point you hop off and get on the BSL (Broad Street Line, which is another subway) which you take all the way down to Pattison Station (about 10 min, to south Philly). You pop out at the surface at Pattison and you are only a couple hundred yards from the Spectrum, as well as all the other arenas/sports complexes. And you should have no trouble on the return after the show, as the BSL runs every 20-some minutes. To see details go to http://www.septa.com, and from there you can go to "Plan Your Trip" and work the timing around Amtrak & the show itself. Hope this helps!
It helps thanks!
I was thinking about that. That's how I got to philly when I went sightseeing last year. But does the bus run that late at night? I can't afford a hotel.
Oh and FYI, if you take a bus to Philly, that brings you in right next to the Market East Station, which is also in the same area. You can make all your connections from there to south Philly very easily there too (I take the train into that station every day for work).
Don't know, you'd have to pull up their schedules online. Obviously the return trip would be the issue, but they may actually run late...not often at those hours, but they may run nevertheless.
