Just to let you know how Priceline was working for me.

I chose four star in the "Glendale-Universal City-Glendale"

the only four star is

http://www.hotelamarano.com/contacts.php

This would be $553 if booked through their website for two night. I Pricelined this for $79/night. After taxes for two nights it came to $185. I did this for 9/30 and 10/1 as well as 10/6 and 10/7. This hotel is still a good 2.5 miles from the venue but you do get a chocolate on your pillow for when you get back from the show.

FYI. 3 star and up in the same "region" at $60 got NOTHING.

That's very good, but are you planning on renting a car? Cars for a couple of days are $$$. So, we're spending about $155 a night for the Hilton, won't need a car don't have to worry about parking, taxi's, etc. and will take the Shuttle from the airport.

In LA, I presume? The OP was! I (along with MANY others) have been successful in Chicago, it's worth checking out.

It looks like they charge $28 day for parking, so if you have a car, be aware of that charge.

good point. they do however have a shuttle that takes guests to Universal Citywalk and free ride to/from Burbank airport.

just booked hotel via priceline, chose hollywood area cause it's what was suggested by a friend and not too far from universal city - anyway, in case you're still looking...3 stars, hollywood area, $70 per night x 2 nights oct 6 & 7, $168 after taxes landed me Hollywood Heights Hotel, which i expected (based on betterbidding website) and i am satisfied
