i only hate the flyers. i think the city is pretty lame when compared to ny, but whatever...it has its own charm...some people are into that smaller, more spread out type deal. i personally love having everything all of the time...its not for everyone.
that said, i always and will always take the 1.5 hour drive to philly/camden when pearl jam shows up...the fans in the are are great. they sing loud.
either way when it comes to nyc shows and philly shows, the hardcore fans from either city are always going to travel so there's obviously love to go around.
we'll chalk up the rivalry to ballbusting...
but i hate flyers fans.
i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status
As a New Yorker, I am nothing like this, so I don't fit the stereotype.
uh , same here.
And I dont give a flying fuck what municipality i may or may not be be in geographically on / or in any given moment,
I'm proudly sporting my NY Rangers jersey .
come on man, as big of a Rangers fan you are, the Flyers don't piss you off because they are from Philly? Everything about the Flyers sucks and things that suck piss me off, lol haha
Let me clarify on this whole deal:
This just defined how awesome the northeast is. As men from NYC, Philly and Boston, we hate each other so much. Seriously. But we all agree that we are the most bad ass mother fuckers around

Meh. It's not like I'm going to fight anybody. I too have been to NY and Boston for shows, and they were sweet. I especially like the mixing of different people, etc. I'm just saying we're a big deal.

Doubt it, especially with the salary cap going down and the fact that Eddy Curry could still be on the payroll.

As a New Yorker and a Yankees fan living in Philly for the past 3 years (believe it or not I actually love the city) it is amazing what one World Series Championship does to a team. All of a sudden Amaro is turning into Cashman...rumors of them signing a washed up pitcher for wayyy more than he is worth and possibly trading the farm for a great/aging pitcher. Just remember Philly fans, these are many of the reasons you hate the Yankees.

No, I know why we hate the Yankees. Buying championships with an endless amount of money. We do not have that. The reason for signing Pedro is so he is our #4 or #5(interchanging with Moyer) so that Happ can be put into a package deal to get a #2.

Also, NO ONE can be the fucking Yankees.
PS - I'm glad you enjoy it here.
The whole buying championships is such a tired argument. The Yankees had the same number or players from their farm on the 1998 team as the Phillies did last year. Yes, they have more money than anyone (they run a great business) but it would be more of an outrage if they didn't spend it on the talent on the field.

besides having an owner who puts the money back into trying to win even if it doesn't result in championships all the time is better than the alternative.

The Phillies crying poor the past few years is absurd. They have a new stadium that has been full for the past 4 years. They have plently of money to spend.

I'm talking more of the teams since 2000.......Oh, let's just go through the names shall we...not to mention the ridiculous salaries............Pavano, Johnson, Knoblauch, Brown, Justice, Orlando Hernandez, Mondesi, Zeile, Ventura, Olerud, Loaiza, Lofton, Ponson, Dotel, Farnsworth..........and the list goes on of players paid ludicrously large monopoly money. But it's cool, I think it's over a BILLION dollars spent almost since the last title that was bought? I mean won.

Who's crying poor. I like knowing they'll do what they need to to win as long as they know that field is selling out. That makes sense. Sitting around $130 million is nothing compared to where your boys' salary stand - escalates. That new stadium is a monstrosity by the way.
EDIT: Honestly, my biggest problem with Yankees fans, as well as Sawx fans, are the ones not from - nor related to - the cities they are associated with.

I hate fans of any team that have no association to them or their location. Agreed on that.
There are a lot of things I miss about the old stadium but in all honesty I love the new one. I think the walls are going to have to be moved out and monument park should be moved but other than that I think the place is great and am looking forward to going to games there for many years.

The Yanks have had some bad signings in the past 8 years. No Yankees fan is going to argue with that but we would much rather have them spending the money to win rather than not.
El Duque was the 1999 ALCS MVP by the way, so leave him off that list.

Granted.
I'm not saying Adam Eaton, Freddy Garcia, or Eric Milton were good buys, but come on.....throwing sacks of money around is ridiculous. It's the same reason a friend of mine that lives here now - originally from NYC and a former Yanks fan(season tickets behind home plate with his family) - became a die-hard Phils fans once he moved here permanently in 2003. He got disgusted by the way Georgie boy runs his ballclub.
So after all the bitching on my other thread about New Yorkers always taking over the tickets in Philly, lets make sure we rock philly!
