Tickets didn't go on sale, but site crashed ...

Why was the site a mess 8 hours ago? Just because people were checking the news? Or was something else wrong?

    This isn't 1997. They need bigger servers if that is the case. I enjoyed the door analogy though. That's how the Internet was explained to me in 1997. Myself, and the rest of the world, know a lot more about it now. If the servers can't handle people just looking at news, how can they handle people actually buying tickets? I'm losing faith.

    all usa fans,and aussie was in,,and people like me from europe...thats why they put the days seperate and sales too between usa and aussie ...u can imagine who many people are in good section when tickets are in buy now

    its probably not cost effective to buy excess server power when you only need it a few times a year. Can you rent server power from somewhere and just use it when needed?

    i wouldnt consider almost 1100 simultaneous users a lot considering the scope of pj's popularity. maybe the board is on server separate from the goods server, and the board just couldn't handle the load. i really hope thats the case.

    I agree. 1000 users is the equivalent of a fart in 2009. Not even a full fart. Just a little whoosh. A bigger server is definitely in order so that the site can be brought out of the 90's.

    i about had a nervous breakdown trying to get tickets to the EV show in Chicago last year. didnt get them.
    then when i tried and through TM and actually got them for night 2 i actually cried a bit !!!!!! im serious.
    it should not be this fucking stressful to get tickets to a fucking rock concert !!! :lol:

    but what can you do? what can you do! what can you do.
