Target seems to have been releasing all of their artist exclusive albums on sundays to grab shoppers attention when they release their sunday ads.. this way shoppers can come in and purchase it on sunday instead of waiting until tuesday... i know it was like this for PRince and Black eye peas.. and Christina Aguilera
"I Will Scream my Lungs out 'til it fills this Room "

" I Will Feel Alive as Long as I am Free"

"Are We Getting SomeThing Out Of this All Encompassing Trip? Makes Much More Sense To Live In The Present Tense"

that's interesting... makes me wonder if the whole industry will try and change that general tuesday release date to boost sales.
  • I'm just laughing at the notion that the release of the new Pearl Jam album is directly influenced by the fact that Target does Sunday newsletters. LOL.

Funny how shit works out, huh?

yeah, and honestly... this might be a good thing for Pearl Jam as far as sales go... they now have a "big" company behind them, who can run ads in their own fliers in addition to the usual advertising PJ does for all their releases (Rolling Stone, SPIN, etc.)

i for one am happy for them and excited for this release!
  • yeah, i never said it was a bad thing. just that it's funny.

no, i know! my point wasn't meant to contradict your's....

it was more to point out that while the cynics may say that PJ has "sold out" with this move, the fact is that they are choosing it for themselves, it's not a record company decision. they are big enough and established enough that they didn't have to re-sign their deal with Epic, and they CHOSE to let Target help.

they're the biggest little band around!

I've had enough, said enough, felt enough. I'm fine, still in it.
