tickets day of venue - fair?

I have heard about many peoples tix getting swapped at the venues by workers or others- so someone else gets your 10c tix and swaps em for another set. Ever happened to you ? ? ?

well, it happened to me on a couple occasions during these "pick-up day of show" things, once at the EV april fools in San Diego, i'm 100% sure my tickets got swapped.

Is there a way we could get our names/id printed on the tickets, or maybe they could at least seal the envelopes and let the ticket buyer open it and check the seats? orrr......any other solutions? or is the system foolproof and fine by everyones standards?

Didn't this happen at one of the 2008 shows?

Printing your name on them can be done. No Doubt printed your name on the tickets.

the NIN fan club prints the fan club members name on the ticket, i just don't know if that raises the costs of printing the tickets in any way.
but even sealing the envelope is a good idea.

Box office staff would. Some box offices, particularly MSG have union people, and non-union people are not allowed within 50' of the window.

I think the only thing that TC can do is when they arrive to a venue is stuff the envelopes and tape them closed, which they may already do (except at MSG, which does not allow sealed envelopes). When they visit the Box Office manager they should inform them that they know where each person is supposed to be sitting, so if TC gets a complaint about tickets being incorrect, they will prosecute the person handling that batch of tickets at the window.

The tickets were totally different looking, there was no presale code printed on the ticket - and my tickets were in the very last row behind a pillar.

The lady that handed me the tickets did not look like she worked for 10c, she may have, but i'm sure she was wearing venue worker uniform - she was acting sketchy and suspicious as she "searched" for my tickets, then finally "found them" after disappearing for 10 minutes - the weird part is that all the tickets were all located in envelopes, contained in several boxes on a table right in back of the workers - so everyone can see them pull tickets out. thats not where my tickets were. well, i just took the tix and didnt even bother saying anything, couldnt wait to get in - then i got to my seats where we couldnt even see anything....the very last row....

Yeah, that sounds like some shenanigans!

I would have been pissed too, but what can you do? Unless the 10c puts your name on the tix you have to take them at their word...

that's really unfair, sorry that happened to you Elzar. I hope 10C does something to prevent this for the upcoming tour.

I'm not sure, but if I remember correctly, back in '98, didn't they put your name on the ticket, and you had to show your ID to get in the venue? I seem to remember this happening at the Merriwether Post Pavilion.

that is very disapointing. did you contact the ten club about it after the fact?
it could be they lost your tickets and just gave you whatever tickets they had :?

either way i would have been very upset.
