i find it kinda odd that they have 3 west coast cities and then heading to the east to play one city...they wouldn't go to east coast for one city (granted it's two dates) but why travel across the entire US just for 2 dates? they have to have some other east coast cities up their sleeves...that would only make sense

They're gonna demo The Spectrum. There was a time element for that. Otherwise I think they would have waited to do a proper East Coast tour after Aussie. (my speculation)

    or ... both.

I assume the east coast will get it's share in 2010.

There is a long gap between San Diego and Philly. Could be more added or they just want to space it out.

i hope it's the latter...i mean this date is a bit of a tease, don't get me wrong i'm not complaining...it just seems weird...perhaps they are playing there before they catch their flight to aussie land.

You think that is weird? Look at the LA dates. They are taking a couple of days to squeeze ACL in there.

This is not just any venue they are playing. This is the home of the world champion Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia 76ers! As someone mentioned, they are going to tear down our beloved Spectrum and turn it into some kind of hotel/shopping extravaganza for tourists and the like. They are definitely making a special trip for this tour. I can't believe this is going to be it for this incredible building. So many memories on Broad Street. I hope to see as many of you from out of town as I can. We should get together, for I have many a story to share about this building...

There were like 6 shows(incl Beacon) in those states alone last year.

when was the last LA show? i think the west coast people deserve it.

Not to mention that the Gibson is a small venue. It takes about 3 shows at the Gibson to equal the capacity at the Forum which is where they played in 06. It's a great venue but man tickets are going to sell out in like 3 seconds. I wonder what the 10c allotment is there.

You also have to figure that they will eventually fill in those dates between Seattle and LA with a few shows in Oregon and N. Cal.

    Jesus Christ, come to Pittsburgh!

Not to bitch, but it'll be 4 years next year (and that's more than a lot of markets). I can't take it anymore.

West Coast & MidWest deserve it the most. I think they should have sprinkled some dates around Chicago, but that's just me complaining. Milwaukee, Indy, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Denver, St. Louis....

West Coast got some love in this, although the LA shows are either a burden (hard to get tickets) or a blessing (4 shows).

Matt Cord(a DJ here in Philly) spoke with Jeff and he said that they were the last band to close out the Boston Garden, and Chicago Stadium. They said they wanna go for the trifecta. So there.
