1st Time Ed got political

What is the time in Pearl Jam's career that Ed got political? Thinking back on it, the furthest I can think is writing pro-choice during the Unplugged. Just wondering if something came before.
My god its been so long, never dreamed we'd return.

    they had chants about rape & abortion very early in their career, and started playing Suggestion by Fugazi as early as summer 1991, duno bout government & voting etc...
