How to Disable Avatars???

In anticipation of a s-l-o-w board tomorrow, I wanted to disable avatars and sigs today but I cannot find that ANYWHERE in my settings or profile.

Can someone tell me exactly where to do this, please.

    I have no clue re the ticket sales - just know the board slows down.
