    that's the specrtum.
    there's the wachovia spectrum and the wachovia center. spectrum will be demolished and the center will stand since it's new. The "expected" date has been rumored on all different dates.

    That was the old date - I posted this in the Philly thread on Wednesday night:

    Nothing too big to add, but 610 WIP just had Peter A. Luukko on to discuss the Flyers and Sixers as free agency starts. He is the Chief Operating Officer of Comcast-Spectacor which owns the 76ers, Flyers and among other things the Spectrum. After talking sports awhile, he said that the 9/30/09 closing date for the Spectrum has been pushed back now to early November and that there are a lot of acts who will be playing this fall - big acts that will excite the city but he can't name names just yet. He said some of the acts have played many shows at the Spectrum and that some of the acts have only played once or twice but have been calling to play the Spectrum for awhile now before it closes. He also said the demolition of the Spectrum won't be on New Year's Eve anymore and will instead take place in the spring.
