UNITED CENTER - CHICAGO - behind the stage seating??

I see they aren't selling these at this point in time... has anyone been there to see Pearl Jam? Do they eventually release the seats on the back side and back for sale? Spoke with United Center box office and they did not know... if you went to the Chicago shows at United Center in the past you might have noticed if people were sitting behind the stage... I loved sitting back there at the Garden last year...

  • if you go through the united center website and pull up the pearl jam event, you can see the seating chart specifically for their show... according to that, no, it wouldn't be open... but what do i know.

it just seems like they would sell them... not sure why they would not want to. again, they are better seats than sitting in the third tier.

If you don't mind looking at the backs of the musicians you've paid to see for the vast majority of the show, then having them turn around to sing Last Kiss to you. I guess it's just not for me!

well if you've seen them multiple times, the change of view is refreshing. it really sucks to sit directly behind cameron and watch him play all night.

i've wondered why they are not open as well. Maybe for something special, though what could that be?

My problem is that seeing ANY empty seats in a venue, in my opinion, takes away a lot of the energy of the show - especially if there's a full section void of people.

I sat behind the stage for the legendary 10/3/05 show in Philly, and let me tell you that sitting behind the stage didn't take ANYTHING away from my enjoyment. Of course, for some fans, LISTENING to the MUSIC seems to be less important than, oh I don't know, seeing how "cute" Eddie looks, meeting Eddie, tasting Eddie's wine, etc.

If you are one of those types, then rear-stage seating may not be for you. ;)

Maybe Pearl Jam is using a backdrop, therefore making it impossible to see from behind the stage? I last saw the full band at Lollapalooza in '07 where they used the waves backdrop.

I am certain that there were people sitting behind the stage at The United Center the last two times they were there. Can't remember previous shows there. I could be wrong so don't qoute me but I think they sold the tickets not to long before the shows. I have some pics of night 2 from last time they played. Damn, I can't even remember the year. '06? I'll post the few pics I have from the show.

I seem to recall in '06 them deciding to sell tickets to the rear-stage shortly before the shows as well.

In '98, I had 300 level behind the stage. Best of both worlds. It still fucking rocked.

Here's some pics from night two. Can't remember why I didn't have fanclub seats for this show, and why I don't have pics from night 1 when I did. Weird.

  • How was the sound back there? I would think that would be the reason to sit in front of them.

I sat behind stage at one of the East Rutherford shows in 2006. In reality, it was great. Sound was fine, you're pretty close to the stage, and, of most importance, the band turns in to each other and jams a lot of the time, so you are able to see them interact pretty well. If it's all you can get to a show, I endorse it fully.

Some of my favorite shows (PJ or otherwise) were ones with seats behind the stage. :)

Did it for MSG nt 1 last year.... really wasn't too bad. First off I was just happy to be there after consistently being shut out of every pre-sale!

I was really surprised as to how much I enjoyed having a full view of the arena... seeing the whole crowd was really amazing, and yes... getting to view matt all night wasn't too bad either ;)

They sell those pretty much at all their arena shows, don't they? Since they don't use the big screens, the view is not impeded, and they CAN fill them.

had behind the stage seats for Springsteen this past April. It worked out fine. I'll admit at first I was really dissapointed in the selection. When I got there, I saw they had video screens right in front of us and the band turned around and played to us alot. Bruce did not forget about us. We rocked out with the best of them! :D Sound was top notch as we had speakers and all. It was like sitting lawn at the ampitheater but better.

It's also kind of cool to actually have a full view of the drummer in action. Max was kicking ass like usual.
