How hard is it to replace a bumper on a newer Honda Civic?

My GF has destroyed the back bumper of her 2007 (i think 2007) Honda Civic. Backed up into a square utility box that left a 1.5 foot gash. This matches the destruction on her front bumper from hitting the house a couple of months ago.

...so, since $2,000 is out of the question, how hard is it for us to replace the bumper ourselves?

Does it snap into existing rings or something?

Saw this online and figured I'd ask on AET.

I've mentioned my concern over her driving. She's said she's no worse than me, but I haven't hit the house, hit a utility poll nor hit a car in an intersection, all within 2.5 years. :)

    I second mca! haha!

My girlfriend is also notorious for auotmobile incidents, and err..accidents. I've also expressed my concern about her driving, but she comes back with saying that I drive like a grandpa, and tailgate...pretty poor defense if you ask me. I actually have never been in an accident (crossing fingers).

I don't think replacing the bumper should be TOO difficult. Do you have any friends or acquaintences with mechanical experience?

haha.... well, I'm good at figuring things out. But I've never attempted anything on a vehicle.

Just wondering if anyone knows if there's special screws, or weird things that are hard to figure out, or it is just pops on.

All I can give you is...

My girlfriend's 98 Civic has been through hell and back, and she had the front bumper beat up pretty bad for some time there. She used to live in Atlanta, and her dad knew some country, bumble-fuck mechanic who said he would fix it for a killer price. He used fucking zip-ties...

    Hope that helps :D:lol:

btw--you could take it to a body shop or a Honda dealer & ask them for instructions. they may charge you a consult fee, but it's worth a shot. also, try going to a salvage yard.

People PM'd me to change The Hoff because it creeped them out. Apparently The Hoff holding puppies wasn't better... and bald Britney demanding Backspacer also didn't help.

Donald Sutherland is a seasoned actor. Everybody appreciates a talented thespian

Sutherland rocks! There is a movie starring him called 'Don't Look Now', I think? Anyways, I saw something about it on TV around halloween time and it looked cool.

Can we start taking votes for your next avatar???

Busey. Definitely Busey. The thought of that man makes me laugh my ass off! There was one of the best descriptions of Gary Busey that was said at the roast of Larry The Cable guy, and I don't remember who said it, but it was something like this:

"Gary Busey is here tonight. Gary, what the hell are you? You look like the product of Nick Nolte having sex with a Clydesdale!"

    LMAO!!!
