I Pledge Allegiance, To The Flag, Of The Corporate State of America...
http://headinthegame.newsvine.com/_news ... of-america
Let's be clear, whatever America used to be, it is now a Corporate State.
By "corporate state" I mean a country where all interests are subservient to what is perceived to be in the "best interests" of Corporate America. You can view pretty much all of what is currently happening right now politically through this lens.
Why aren't we bailing out individuals rather than these mega-corporations? Why, because we live in a corporate state...isn't what is good for Corporate America good for the individuals anyway?! NO! But our government doesn't see it this way...
We now live in a land where "corporations" have more rights than individuals!
We are all forced to bow down.
If we don't bow down, you will lose your ability to earn a livelihood. You will wind up in a homeless encampment.
The corporate state has so infected America its hard to see a path back away from it.
Everything that happens in America has been polluted by it.
You don't dare protest your loss of liberty, you might be identified as a "terrorist" group.
You don't dare write articles about your loss of liberty, because it might affect your ability to get a job.
We're all "corporate sellouts" now.
Even Obama's drug policy is pro-corporate state.
No marijuana legalization. Why? Because prisons are big corporate business! Because it would hurt the pharma companies "legal" substitute products.
Cripes, in America we can't allow a drug that everyone could grow in their backyard! No way. We have to force people to buy the expensive stuff from Corporate America!
Bow Down! Or Else!

but cost $1 trillion over 10 years, according to preliminary estimates released Monday by the Congressional Budget Office......The agency estimated that the exchange and subsidies could reduce the number of uninsured people by roughly 16 million by 2015. It is estimated there would otherwise be 51 million uninsured that year.

You're basing your claims after the old proposal. Here is the new plan that was just released yesterday.

Holy willful misreading batman. You don't get fined for not buying Obama's plan, you get fined for not having any insurance at all. You can buy whatever plan you damn well please, as long as you have some sort of health insurance. We mandate it for cars and you don't bitch endlessly about that do you? But I guess I can see how getting the facts right would be a huge bummer for you and make it so much harder for you to make alarmist, unfounded, emotional arguments with no factual merit... the bread and butter of your ilk.0 -

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Force people to buy health insurance that can't afford it as it is. My ilk is for less government.0 -

There's already programs in place for people who cannot afford health insurance. This just makes it easier for them to be able to afford insurance. If they can't...there's still going to be programs for them.0 -
How are those already in place programs working out?0

Good god, do you people have a brain that actually works? The plan provides health care free of charge by the government for those that can't afford it, subsidizes health care for those that can pay something, and requires everyone else to either buy into the government plan or buy their own.
Do you kick and scream this much over mandatory car insurance laws? And we don't do SHIT to help people that can't afford car insurance.
This really isn't that complex of a concept or plan. We can argue all day about whether it's a good idea or the expense is worth it. There are plenty of arguments against it. You people don't need to make shit up and deliberately misstate what's happening to do it. Buy a fucking clue.Post edited by soulsinging on0 -
And we shouldn't do shit, as you say, to help people buy health insurance either.0

Wow, totally derailing the initial OP, but carry on anyway...
I do think many people are only reading what they want to in Obama's Healthcare plan, and letting their political opinions sway heavier than their common sense. :roll:0 -

And like I said, that's a perfectly legitimate stance with plenty of merit on its own. You don't need to make shit up and lie about what's actually happening to support that.0
