If I might make a suggestion based on years of experience...

Make elaborate alternate plans that can't possibly be broken without substantial financial penalty. THEN they will announce more tour dates.

    See how this works? ;)

It is pretty intense. To book your vacation time, away from the kids, booking flights, hotels etc.. then find out they are doing another show in your neck of the woods, that you can't make now. D'oh! doh.gif

There's a saying down here in Tennessee...probably on the message pit..."Fool me once...shame on...if fooled, you can't get fooled again."

    For once, we agree.

Okay. What is your definition of "plenty"? :geek:
Everyone is born, but not everyone is born the same. Some will grow to be butchers, or bakers, or candlestick makers. Some will only be really good at making Jell-O salad. One way or another, though, every human being is unique, for better or for worse.

This is getting a little out of hand. I've never been one to bitch about the way the band announces their tours but come on, one show at a time?? It's gotten ridiculous at this point.

People have work/school, limited vacation funds, children to plan around (or with :) ), a set amount of vacation time. I have a week and a half of vacation left that I've been holding onto for months now waiting for an real tour announcement and I keep having to hold out hope because it's one show in Toronto on week, two shows in Chicago, one show in San Fran announced the next week, then the following week Austin, now weeks later Calgary. How are people supposed to plan anything if they want to see a show or shows? The band knows there are a lot of people out there (ok, really just here) that plan entire weeks of vacation around their tour schedules. I think it's just mean to keep announcing things this way. There can't possibly be that many venues that are still up in the air on booking them, or that the band is up in the air about playing at this point. At the rate their going they'll be announcing the whole west coast tour the week before it starts, but they'll do it by announcing 1 show every two hours over the span of a day and never give any inkling that any future shows will be announced each time.

I really love this band but these shenanigans are really starting to piss me off :x

Just announce at least one leg of the tour already!! (a two leg announcement would be ideal if it's going through the end of the year and spans multiple countries ;) ) Even if it's not anywhere near me then at least then I'll know for sure that I don't have to hold out hope.

OK, now I feel better. :D

Just do what I did...take a few days off and don't go on the computer. Then when you get back, they'll have announced two shows in your hometown and the presale for the first one is already over. :(

Holy crap for the love of god, maybe, just maybe they don't have all the dates set yet.. don't revolve your life around this band and bitch, its just music, thanks! 8-)

Seriously, when I say I'm obsessed with this band I've been OBSESSED for 16 years now, but please don't ever plan your life around them.. and if you do, don't raise the bar for them. They are not obligated to schedule your summer for you. They are just a band who makes music, all-be-it VERY good music, but you catch my drift...

I have to agree. This waiting around and checking up every few hours for news is crazy. Did they send an e-mail about Calgary? If they did I didn't get it.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

It seems to me that you've made a few assumtions here that are not quite accurate......

My life doesnt revolve around this band...my life includes this band.
This was not meant as a "bitch" as you stated...hence the "dont mean to sound disrespectful"
I've never assumed that the band was obligated to schedule my summer for me either.

All Im saying is....It would be GREAT to know the full schedule (or even a few together) so we can make wise choices as to the shows we'd like to see. I'd like to see a few (ok ALOT :D ) and being able to plan a bit in advance would be helpful....thats all :)

The simple reality is the demand for 10-C tickets greatly surpasses the supply.

And that's all we're really talking about here -- once 10-C announces a show, the Ticketmaster or Live Nation sale is usually not for another week or two. You are free to get tickets that way, and those tix have usually been readily available for cheap (ie, way below face) the week of the show.

What amuses me is the people who vent on here all the time freaking out about 10-C and the way they announce the news actually have an advantage, since they're more likely to be on here at the right time. If 10-C announced the whole tour a month ahead of time, you'd have less chance of getting 10-C tickets. Think about it...

    Good points throughout.

I also don't think they plan their tours thinking, "We've got to give these nerds plenty of warning so they can get vacation days and plane flights."

Though PJ obviously attracts a touring audiences, the shows are primarily for the people IN THAT TOWN. Those people don't neccesarily need to take vacation days, and they sure don't need plane flights. They need less warning than the traveling nerds.*

Same here. I'm eager for confirmation and details of the rumored Philly shows, as I'll soon have to commit to an important fall night class.

But I see the possibility of 10-C tix to those shows for what it is -- a privilege.
