was wondering if anyone knows or remembers the quote from catch-22 that kinda sounds like its describing capitalism but its not about that. i know thats very vague info but im trying to find it but its hard skimming through a book for one sentence when you cant remember the chapter or anything. i do know its past chapter 8. it just made me laugh when i read it.

I think this was the most confusing book I've ever tried to read.
    Thanks EPOTTSIII!

This is my all-time favorite novel and the basis for my entire world view and philosophy on life. I love it. You'd have to give me a bit more to go on to snag a particular quote though... the books it 450 pages, after chapter 8 narrows it down to about 400 ;)

I think the reason I never got over my ex is that she was the smartest woman I ever met and the only other person I've ever known that read this book for leisure and loved it. That scored her huge points in my eyes.

Indeed I did, among others, hehe. keysersoze and unifiedscene I think.

Yes, I do, but I probably should have put a winky at the end of that one. It was intended to be a friendly dig at the guy that said it was too confusing to finish... I've heard that from just about everyone I've ever recommended it to except that one ex. I guess it's just tough to find people on your level when you're a genius ;)

Shot in the dark here :

1st Lt. Milo Minderbinder: Nately died a wealthy man, Yossarian. He had over sixty shares in the syndicate.
Yossarian: What difference does that make? He's dead.
1st Lt. Milo Minderbinder: Then his family will get it.
Yossarian: He didn't have time to have a family.
1st Lt. Milo Minderbinder: Then his parents will get it.
Yossarian: They don't need it, they're rich.
1st Lt. Milo Minderbinder: Then they'll understand.

i liked the book alot. still think catcher in the rye is the greatest book ever. but catch-22 was very good. the characters were some of the best ive ever read. the realist cartoons ive ever read about, if that makes any sense. it was so over the top that it seemed like 'yeah that seems possible'

scheisskopf is great. i showed my uncle from germany that and we all had a good laugh. he really lives up to his name for sure, thats for sure.

i didnt find the book that hard, it was kinda neat how some of the parts were fleshed out later in the book. like events were mentioned earlier but the details dont become clear until much later, like snowdens death.

thats funny but thats not it. it was like one sentence describing something. it might be around that dialouge though. what chapter is that from?
