This is a nice thought for the peoples who are fans of both Pearl Jam and Michael Jackson. If Pearl Jam was to make a tribute to Michael Jackson what songs would you want on the album please name at least 10 songs!!!!! That would kick ass !!!! :D

    Are you serious?

Pearl Jam are serious and legitimate musicians and artists....Michael Jackson may have been a star, but he was only a popstar. And one with serious mental issues.

Ed has stated that the Jackson 5 had a big Influence on him in past interviews.

I doubt MJ's later stuff did much for him, but you never know.

as far as serious and legitimate goes, Sweet Lew and Gremmie outta control ring a bell ? :D

for the record , i like Gremmie !
    Peace, Love.

I won't be surprised if Pearl Jam does a Michael Jackson cover on a Daughter tag something during the August tour! If you only followed Michael Jackson's career, based on his music & not his personal life, he is & forever will be, the king of pop. The dance master! A pop legend.

"The Girl is Mine" from the Thriller record? would be a great cover indeed!

How about a Temple of the Dog tribute album to MJ?

I love that idea of "The Girl is Mine" with Cornell. It would be funny as hell hearing Eddie say "I already told you Chris I'm a lover, not a fighter". And "Scream" with Eddie and Chris would rock.

    Only a pop star?

The guy did more creativity for music than anyone else on this planet.. it happened to be popular music, but he invented and created so much.

Ed has stated his top most influential album of all time, above The Who, above Neil Young IS by the Jackson 5.. So a pop boy band is Ed's number one influence.. There's also a 2006 picture online somewhere where the band members are holding up favorite albums and Matt Cameron is holding up Michael Jackson's 1991 Dangerous album.

Just because its pop music, does not mean it can't be ground breaking or influential.. most pop is crap, but then again there's a lot of non-pop crap too.

They already have..MJ has a song called History..Pj pretty much directly ripped it off with Marker in the sand (their weakest song ever IMO)..listen for both choruses
the choruses are the same..watch for 'everyday create your history' and Pjs 'walking tightrope high'...they're identical
