All,

I am almost finished with this book and a recommended it any one who grew up listening to "grunge".

http://www.amazon.com/Grunge-Dead-Histo ... 1550228773

Basically, an author from Long Island interviewed people going back to the 60s and 70s all the way through the 90s. He wrote a book with their interviews, using quotes to tell the story of how everything happened, etc.

There are several good quotes from Eddie and the boys about the forming of Pearl Jam as well a lot of insight from Layne Staley's mother about AIC and his addiction.

A very good book and very educational.

Check it out!

  • I'm reading it right now and also highly recommend it to everyone else. I'm at the part where Mudhoney formed, so I've still got a lot of great stuff still left to read, but so far I'm loving it. Some of the insights and stories offered up by the people who were there are really enlightening. I even dug the part about how Nirvana's type treatment log was created. Very fun stuff. I haven't even made it to the parts with Ed yet, but can't wait to get there.

I ordered this off Amazon about 2 weeks ago and got it a few days ago but I am finishing my current book, In Harm's Way the story of the USS Indianapolis and it's sinking and how the survivors survived against all odds. Great book btw if anyone is interested in WWII or the Navy. I will start the Grunge book early next week hopefully.
He who forgets will be destined to remember.

I have really enjoyed reading it. I went to Seattle for the first time on business about 2 weeks ago and started reading it on the plane. I am almost done with it. I am not much for recreational reading, but this book is a must-read for any fan of the grunge era.

Was out last night to catch the latest Transformers film @ the iMax! Before watching this flick, Chapters right next to the Theatre had a special. Buy 3 books, get the 4th free. Had to pick this up!

You'll enjoy it. From reading it, I also have been revisiting some music that I had not listened to in many years.

Sweet! I've started a few pages late last night, before watching Police Academy 4. lol. It's not bad. Beats reading the 'All You Need To Know About The Music Business' by Donald S. Passman (6th Edition). The music business keeps changing day by day!

I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I'll start reading after I finish the other 30 books I have waiting for me in the bookcase :D
