There is a awesome snip of Eddie singing 'Ben' the Michael Jackson song after the song ends and then he mutters fuck that. And 'Rats' borrows it's last line from 'Ben' as well. It really was my favorite song of Michaels, regardless of its Pearl Jam relation. I know Eddie cited him and Motown as his primary influences as a singer. I'm sad to hear the news today, pretty tragic life he lived. RIP to the King

Yeah, I though of that clip from years ago. I remember Eddie saying "Michael Jackson is innocent" during one of the Rats tags....can't remember the show in particular.

Also, there's a sweet version of Chris Cornell covering Billie Jean acoustic, that's pretty easy to find.

For better or worse, this guy was an icon that for many years of my youth seemed to be immortal.
    90 shows and counting...some of my favs: Randall's Island night 2, Milwaukee '95 night 2, Hawaii '06, St Johns '05, PJ20!

I could be wrong, but I think it's the Atlanta show from 94.

Without the Jackson 5, many, many bands might not be here.

Among the many connections between the Jackson 5 and Pearl Jam, the vocal work in "Come Back," in my opinion, has its roots in the Jackson 5 ballads "I'll Be There," "Got To Be There" and "Never Can Say Goodbye."

I believe that was Atlanta '94 (the radio broadcast show), best version of Rats ever, the outro is stunning.

Though, the real highlight is not the "Ben" and MJ references, but that Ed busts out a line from Satan's Bed in the outro, first time any part of that song ever surfaced I believe.

They then played Satan's Bed for the first time live right after Rats.
