irritating new community board - agree?

In the former version of "The Porch" you were able to put your cursor over a topic name and it revealed the starting topic with its entire text which was good for sorting out wether or not you would spend more time on topics who often didn´t make sense standing alone (like mine for example).

Why has Ten Club "closed" this feature? Is it not possible with the "new" layout"?

Am I the only one who want this feautre back?

    I agree - our internet at home is very unreliable, and often very tediously slow.. I loved this feature because I didn't have to wait for a page to load to get some insight on what the topic is.

    The old board seemed to have many perks that this one lacks but I guess they are still working out the kinks :lol:

    I totally miss being able to mouse over thread titles. Most thread titles suck and have little reference to the actual post. Bring it back!!!

    That feature isn't available w/ this software... I believe this is Joomla... there may be a plug in that does it but out of the box it doesn't have the capabilities.

    On a side note, we were really spoiled w/ that feature, it's not really common to see that on BBS's.

    Bump!!!

    I was going to start a thread about this too. So many of the threads have incredibly vague (and even misleading) titles. I also think that this would avoid duplicate threads beacause now you have to actually open a thread to see if one has already been started about a certain topic, and people don't bother.

    I agree - our internet at home is very unreliable, and often very tediously slow.. I loved this feature because I didn't have to wait for a page to load to get some insight on what the topic is.

    Really? It's not most forums I use.

    Also, the browser title doesn't display the thread title which is a bit annoying when you have many tabs open and you want to go to a specific message.

    Good to read the explanations as I miss that feature as well. :) My internet is fast and it's still irritating so I really feel for those with slow connections. Agree that most do not have it and often wondered why. Now I know.

    I kind of like it. The reader must interpret the thread title and decide upon clicking or not clicking...

    ...the poster must think of a title that's clickable.

    I know it's the internet but a little creativity never killed anyone!

    Guessing shit is fun. :)

    One of my biggest pet peeves is when people write vague/misleading subject titles. Like "PJ playing the Spectrum!" and I get my hopes all up. Then you click inside and it's "Do you think PJ will play the Spectrum?"... Man that's annoying! Yes, please bring back the Hover feature

    It would also be handy to be able to access yours, and others', list of posts and created threads. The old board had this function, this one just allows you to see all of your own posts.

    I can't tell if you're serious or not...

    I'd much rather a straightforward title than a so called "creative" one that doesn't say anything about what's inside. You can see that this happens on some threads when they have a ton of views, but hardly any posts.
