Had been wanting to see this documentary since 2006 when it was one of the big hits of that years Sundance. just saw it. One of the most bizaare and interesting films i have ever seen. Its the true life story of a guy from washington who had relations with a horse and died from internal injuries as a result.

The way the film is shot is unique. Because of the obviously embarassing and taboo subject matter the film, didnt show the interviewees, except for one quick exception. Most of the film was shot in an almost hallucinatory way, had almost a feel of the About a Son Kurt Cobain documentary from last year, where its Kurt's voice, and the scenes are of other things, non Kurt related. They did do some reenactments, not of the "act" itself, but of the interviewees, and couldnt tell if it was the real people, or just actors.

Why the film was so controversial I think is that in the end the filmmakers really dont demonize or paint this individual as wierd or sick or disturbed. They paint him as normal basically.

I highly recommend checking out this one. Its odd but its worth it
