Same here... I saw them first time in 2000, which I chalk up to being such a young fan in the beginning...

I got Ten for Christmas when I was 8 years old... My mom was cool about stuff like that, she'd put on MTV for me and made a note of all of the stuff I really took to... All I can remember is seeing the Jeremy video for the first time and enjoying it... I probably had no idea what the song meant or any other song on the album for that matter but I really loved that cassette and played the shit out of it... I grew up with the band in every sense... I didn't see them until I was 17 because during the Yield tour I was 14/15 and my mom was pretty strict about letting me go to concerts... So I had to wait patiently... I also didn't really find out about the Ten Club until we got internet.

no way! I don't consider myself a noob, as Matt joined in 98, and what point I was 14, and mostly my friends like crappy music.

thread title and original post are tongue in cheek. i've been into the band since 92/93 (born in 84) and became a superfan in high school. first show was in 2000. i would've loved to see a dave a show (way too young) or a jack show (still kinda young, but i could've pulled it off) though.

A more interesting question is whether anybody here saw them play with the first Dave...
When we found the things we loved,
They were crushed and dying in the dirt.
We tried to pick up the pieces,
And get away without getting hurt,
But they caught us at the state line,
And burned our cars in one last fight,
And left us running burned and blind,
    Chasing something in the night.

Been a fan since 7. I had ten on cassette. It was on the only thing I'd listen to on my sonic the hedgehog walkman. Bought no code when I was 9. It was the first thing I ever bought with my own money that I earned. I still have the orignal cd that I bought. Lost the pictures that came with it. Live on 2 legs was the first live concert I had by any band. Jones beach night 3 00 being the 2nd. First time seeing the band was at msg 1 03. I've seen them 5 times since then.

I was a fan shortly after Ten came out (I was 8) and I remember getting Vs like the day it came out. I remember listening to Vitalogy but went through a goofy rap phase of my life for a while. In High School I had a friend burn me Vitalogy, No Code and Yield (back when it took a good 45 minutes to burn a cd). Bought Binaural the day it came out and I think the bootlegs are what really got me into them again. I didn't see my first show until 2003 though. I don't really think of myself as a noob, just was a retard through middle school and some of high school. I found my way again though. Currently the girl I am with (we are getting married Saturday!) is awesome. Because of her I have seen them 6 times since Pearl Jam was released. I know it isn't a lot compared to most of you but we are broke and she is in school so I feel like I've done my best making up for lost time.

How can you say Dave Krusen is the best they've ever had?

I saw my first show in 1992..... i have only seen the band like 10 times or so, once on each tour. you have seen them sooooo many more times than me.

unfortunately, by using the term "permanoob" you have demonstrated that you are in fact a permanoob.

damn it, i used it too.

welcome to the club!! : )

yes i have.. :) if you mean Dave Abbruzzese and not Krusen, cuz damn I wasn't on the west coast.

    Lollapalooza 1992

to be honest.. I don't remember much(I just turned 17) its coming up on 18 years ago I think... I do recall the show though, Soundgarden, Chillipeppers and I think Rage Against the Machine played(but they had the side stage).. A ton of bands played back then.

Lolla was a little bit different when it first started.
