How would anyone know? --> By clarifying exactly what was said in the German article. RM is reporting 39 mins, here is was translated as 36 mins.
Nobody is bitching in this thread, I just want to know exactly what was written. But thanks for your input anyway. Would you flip out if somebody asked to clarify one of the song titles, since the album isnt out yet?
The guy that translated it here was actually German, so I'm guessing he read it right. Whether the article is correct or not is another matter, and I've no idea where RM purported to get 39 from.

Exactly....thats what im trying to get the bottom of........where 39 ever came from.
And I agree, I'm still not a 100% believer of all the details in the german article
it's Stone who says it's 36minutes in the German magazine (Visions)...in their interview. And he makes a point that he likes it very much being so short. Jeff goes goes on to say that he thinks album length has doubled with the transition to CD, because bands might have had a bad conscience, because there was more space on CD and first it was more expensive than vinyl.
As some people here, they seem to be fans of 'short' albums, cause as Stone puts it, how much longer can you really delve into the music...
Unfortunately its German! They write that 14 ( :?: ) songs are finished for the new album, according to an interview with Mike! Who knows if its right or not..we will see!

this information is quite old (April; when the album didn't have a title yet), so I would rather trust the Visions report, which is not based on 2nd hand information like the one above but an actual interview the magazine conducted with jeff&stone.
so they might have had 14 songs ready at one point, but dropped them later on...I think this interview with mike that is referenced was the radio interview that was linked frequently on the board...
Honestly, I 'm going to wait for the 10c info that will probaly come in July after the Ed shows. I assume it will come around the time of The Fixer being realeased as the single in a few weeks. Knowing this band, they may have only given partial recordings to magazines and such to review while they choose the final tracklisting.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...

and it says 36 minutes...more specifically, stone says it in the interview...I bought the magazine
the people who transcribed it for the twofeetthick website obviously made a typing error
not that it really matters if it's 36 or 39, though;)
about the tracklist:
Jeff says that Ed first arranged it in a way that all the loud/fast songs were first, and the 2 or 3 more laid-back tracks were at the end...so jeff says the tracklist as given in the magazine is already the 'harmless' one...

what does this even mean??? :?:
you mean the thing about the tracklist?
well, it means that the one given in the german magazine probably is the final tracklist.
the one they (Ed) thought of before was divided in 'rock' songs for the beginning, and 'quiet' songs (e.g. the end) for the end ... now it's a bit more mixed up, although there are still 4 fast songs in the beginning, before a more relaxed song comes up...

thanks for clarifying i was just curious what "already the harmless one" meant.
