Alive is tough to argue with. It's a solo for the ages. I dig NAIS, but I don't think Ledbetter is all that special.

I'm partial to the solo in Immortality... it's stunning and always makes for a jaw-dropping moment at shows!

    All Or None (studio)
    Alive
    Down
    Even Flow
    Of The Girl

    Many...so many.

Yes that's the one I was going to say too. The version off Benaroya is particularly noteworthy.
    R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.
    R.i.p. My Dad - May 28, 2007
    R.i.p. Black Tail (cat) - Sept. 20, 2008

live - immortality and black solo's own. both verions on adelaide 2006 are up with the best i've heard

studio - alive and evenflow wins hands down, perfectly structured, nice and bluesy but still hard rock. McCready truly at his best!

"Alive." Best ever. Sorry, David Gilmour.
  • Breath has a pretty badass solo in it.

But I would say mikes best work is in reach down. It's "breath" taking. ;)

I think Alive and Breath are really similar towards the ending solo.

Hm. This question stumps me. Live - without a question - would have to be that Little Wing/Maggot Brain, though I can't recall which show that's from, with Chad Smith on drums.

Of The Girl is such a sweet bluesy solo by McCready.. Gotta love that.
    Even Flow - duh

Stone's solo's are underrated - Brain of J, Not For You, Save You.. just to mention a few.

"Immortality" (studio) and "All or None"

Not exactly the most difficult solos to play...But they certainly have a buttload of soul.

I feel like a lot of people associate "speed" or "technique" with guitar skills - I'll take a soulful slow blues player over Joe Satriani any day.

Not to mention that it's quite a bit more sophisticated than you would think.. the eBow does take some getting used to after all. "Can you get to an eBow?"

Yeah, Eddie sure does love his eBow. :)

I loved watching that in SVT. It is a very simple solo, but it blends with the song oh so well.
