I love this show. I just got Showtime a few months ago, so I'm just finishing up season 1. I love a show that makes my heart pound with anticipation.
Opinions are like assholes, everyones got one.

    Just wait until you watch Seasons 2 and 3, it gets even more nail-biting...

    I loved season one, but felt season two didn't come anywhere near the greatness of the first season. I wasn't a fan of what they did with some of the characters, esp Dexter. I wonder if it had something to do with watching it in bits and pieces over several months though. Never did get round to watching season three as a result...

    Love this show!!! :D

    Though I hate that I have to wait for the DVD's to come out to be able to watch the show . . . looking forward to August when season 3 comes out.

    Great show. They always come up with a great storyline for each character and it is the best show on TV since the Sopranos ended. Have seen all the episodes and cannot wait for Season 4. September 27th is premiere night for Season 4 FYI.

    Really? I thought the suspense of Lundy's character and everything was pretty good...but I was just hooked to this show after the first episode.

    I don't think this show has lost anything yet, but we'll see how season 4 is :?

    1 and 3 were the best 2 was so so...

    unfortunately this is the case... Season 2 was, for me, a major let down after the brilliance for Season 1

    Season 3, though, is great... not as good as Season 1, but MUCH better than Season 2

    I didn't like that British chick at all. She was annoying and it was an incredibly lame plotline I thought. I also thought they took Dexter way too far from his character's roots. In season one he was fascinating because he was so amoral but trying to fake it and conceal it. In the second, he was far too wishy-washy and guilt-ridden for a serial killer... constantly full of angst about Rita and stuff. It made him far less interesting to me.

    Maybe I should give season three a shot though.

    but hey, at least they bounced back on Season 3.

    Love the show, and love the books as well. It's kind of neat seeing them take the same build but branching off in a little bit of a separate way with each season that way not everything is ruined in one way or the other and you can enjoy both versions of it.

    If you like that whole brand of suspense drama structure, I'd highly reccomend Breaking Bad and Damages as well if you hadn't already watched. Similar structurally, but all have enthralling performances of their own story telling.

    OK so I agree, season 2 isn't as good character wise, but what the FUCK is he gonna do to Doakes???? Holy shit I didn't see that coming, not like that anyway. 3 more episodes to go on season 2, don't anyone tell me! I wish he'd kill Lila and get it over with. I can't stand her.

    Don't get me wrong, Season 1 is phenomenal and had me by the balls all the way till the end. but Season 3 was just more exciting for me. That's all.

    I love that show, but I totally missed Season 3 so I need to get the DVDs.

    I'm surprised that nobody on the thread has mentioned his sister, Debra. I think she rocks. Don't get me wrong, I love the Dexter character too, but her character is so kick-ass, you never know what she's going to do.

    I think it's one of the most unique shows to hit TV in a long time. Making a serial killer a hero is pretty out there.....
