Wrigley Field is nice to look at, but nothing more. Practically speaking, its a piece of crap.. the area around it is nice, but parking sucks.. and Chicago is one of the worst traffic conjested places in the U.S.

Other than that, I agree with you. :)

I've never been to New York, so I can't compare, but friends who have been there weren't too impressed.

Chicago is easily one of the greatest cities in the world.

Oh, and don't listen to LikeAnOcean. :)
You clearly came to that conclusion on your own (by being there) as have millions of other people.

    Best pizza too!
    :D
I know, I just opened up a huge can of worms! LOL!

What? I said Wrigley Field is nice to look at and the area around it is nice. As a place to watch a game, Wrigley Field is very confined, small spaces, very old, you have to face other dudes when you piss in a trough.. its just old and not very practical when compared to other ball parks. Historic, yes. Comfortable, no.. and the hotdogs are not half as good as Sox park. :P

Oh, and I don't eat hotdogs so I'll take your word for that! :D

I actually like Wrigley in that it has a very whimsical feel to it. Very atmospheric. You walk in and feel like you entered another world, another time... other than that, not a very comfortable place to be with a lot of people.

Believe it or not, I actually know some Cub fans who feel the same way. Granted they are all elderly, but they say the same thing. Hahaha, I kid.

My only problem with Wrigley is if you get a seat that's behind a pole/beam. Oh man! More often than not it's exactly lined up with homeplate too, so you have to stretch your head the entire game.

Other than that, I would go to every home game if I had the money for season tix, or if I was stinking rich to ditch out on work. hahaha

Speaking of Chicago, why did you ever leave???

I'd rather be homeless here than live any place else! lol

    LOL!

I had a job opportunity after college that was too good to pass up. Been here in Scottsdale for 3 years now (hard to believe it's been that long!).
I do like it here, but man-oh-man....I miss me some Chicago!

My family still lives there so it's always an excuse "to go home". That and a Cubs game ;) hehehe!

You going to the PJ shows Jim? I'm still thinking about coming back. If it was Alpine there would be no question, but the UC is up for debate.

I'm going to the first show.. second one was tempting, but I gotta stop spending so much money.

I feel you on that, I've been gone less than a month and I miss the hell out of it. Granted, I went from Chicago to Cleveland (total shithole) so there's no redemption. Stupid job offers. My gf misses me but I don't want her to move here cos I want an incentive to keep my ass working to get back ;)

been to every major US, canadian, and european city and ive gotta say its still in my top 5... doesnt quite have the magic and history of older cities but in terms of layout, culture, size, location, sports, food, people, etc etc etc it is pretty damn perfect... im a little biased though

    That's my main complaint.

Also no mountains or ocean beaches hurts it as well. Other than that, Chicago is awesome.

Its a nice place, and the people are friendly. I've been 2x for Lollapalooza there. NYC is still my favorite city though, but Chicago would be in the top 3 for me.

If you could transplant Chicago to someplace on the ocean, 80 degrees year round, with mountains behind the skyline..

    THAT would be heaven.

well i didn't say i would move there but still we had a great time good food ,good ball game ,people should try to get to NY to see a ball game CITYFIELD parking blows the park has no atmosphere to speak off, and then try to get to new YANKEE stadium you will sit in traffic for 6hrs on the crossbronx ,you can take public transportation but that will cost you 25$ to me it was so easy to get from airport to downtown try that here and you will have to take 3fucking trains and two taxis like i said fuck NY ....

I'm in the same boat as you guys. Moved to Wisconsin back in December (live in Appleton, work in Green Bay) and every day I just feel a little off. Especially now with the summer upon us, cuz summertime Chi kicks ass! Stupid job. ( I know, I know, atleast I have one, right?) Of course i still got the fam there and it gives me excuses to take long weekends to "go home." (hey, my company knew they were transplanting a Chicagoan to Green Bay when they hired me, sooo) And I'm pumped to be coming in this weekend with all that's going on. Go Go Sox.
