I don't think so

Needless to say I am a little freaked out. I called my neighbours to see if he went there and he told them he was selling "home alarm systems" but had no business cards?! :?

He's just making sure you had no alarm so he could come back later.

    Good thing you're moving!
    NERDS!
  • that is a little strange. did he seem really jumpy and sketchy?
perhaps he was scouting out the neighbourhood for his dastardly deeds...

yeah sounds like he was scouting for easy targets. I would call the cops.

Just like the beginning of Home Alone.

During times like these, it's almost a good thing to be a gun-owning Republican.

I hope you told him about the 5 rottweilers you have ... or that you have a mentally ill step brother living with you who has an itchy trigger finger.

Pull out 2 bullets out of you're pocket and say, "I don't need a security system. By the way, which do you like better, hollowpoints or wadcutters?" Thousand bucks says he won't ever come back.

Be safe, I want to see you in August! Wouldn't be a bad idea to call the police to alert them either as Patrick said. He's obviously not who he says and if enough people report him maybe they will be able to catch him. :)

I know, eh? :o What was I thinking? Me having standards ;) :P

I am being more careful though and my new place has a nice solid steel door.

Wolfbear, I can't wait to see YOU!! Two months!! WOO. Where are you staying?

You did the right thing not answering the door (esp. if you're by yourself).
After finding out the guy was trying to make sales at 10PM, I def. would have called the cops. Even if they guy is legit, the cops would have told him to go away and stop harassing people so late.

Yeah I am wishing now I had called the police if only to prevent him from harassing people. It freaked me out a bit...not to be all girly

Be glad to get settled into my own little pad. I think I will buy a nice big Mag Lite for a flash light that way I can also use to give someone a good braining if need be.

i would not have answered the door either....definite right call to make. as to calling the cops, a good idea...but hindsight is always 20/20. i agree that more than likely, this person was/is scoping out homes. scary.
