This is to IamMine.
So,now let me understand something. You were at the show last night with your dude(bf, hubby, lover whatever) and you loved it. Then tonight you were OK to send him over to the venue by himself while you were stuck at the stupid hotel looking at the stupid setlist thread on the loser fan board? (oh y'all know it's true, so don't even try to argue) Chica! Are you fucking out of your mind?
I have no patience for bad music and stupid people...

That put a smile on my face this morning! (and no I'm not even going to try and argue that!) :P

You asked for it... here's a long ass defense. :P
I chuckled at the "bf, hubby, lover whatever"... that's funny!
Just so it's clear: he's my best friend first before a husband... or a lover... whatever... I guess you got that right, after all.
You don't understand the situation and I think that if I even tried to explain, you probably wouldn't get it either.
To enjoy the show to thefullest in my situation, it requires a lot of work and effort from people involved in regards to the ADA seats and equal opportunity. Equal communication or equal access... whatever it is.
If I were in a wheelchair, no problem - wheel me in!
However, I'm physically able to do anything - hell, I gave birth to four children.
Now...my communication method is different than most people - I communicate in American Sign Language.
Even with my cochlear implant that I received back in 2005, I still require visual communication in order to make connections with the sounds. Do not believe it when people say cochlear implants are a "cure" or "miracle"... it does not turn a deaf person into a hearing person. It produces various results - no two persons with CIs hear the same. That said, I absolutely love my cochlear implant. I have it on all day except when I go to bed or don't want to deal with noises for period of times.
I've been a PJ fan longer being stone deaf relying on vibrations, body language, and visual interpretations of the songs. Now... it's pretty fucking awesome to hear EV singing - but I still love to feel out of old habit and visual interpretation is still required in order to enjoy the music. An option is closed-caption/subtitle on videos.
Anyway...that requires what for the show? A qualified interpreter who needs to be familiar with the band and songs... as well as how to interpret the songs. You know how PJ/EV's songs can be interpreted in different ways.
I loved how the Nashville interpreter, Natalie, was concerned about her ability to do the job when she saw the lyrics after listening to Guarantee song for a few hours: "Phew...interpreting Eddie Vedder is like interpreting Shakespeare's plays!" She's right.
So the "whatever" dude and I had to spend a lot of hours working with her and we three worked together during the show, too. We all enjoyed it together!
I also requested a FM system that Ryman had for the interpreter... to connect to the soundboard. It kicked ass big time!
To make that work, it requires working with people at a venue to make things work and that is not always successful.
It also requires additional equipment and space... such as a place for interpreter(s) and how far I can see from where I am seated.
"Whatever" actually didn't want to go to the 2nd show without me... I said oh please... Night one blew my ass away and it was enough to make me happy for an entire year!
I really appreciated him being supportive, patient, and willing to help out when I asked him... on top of everything else.
I talked him into it...I told him I was really really really fine just hanging out at the hotel with the folks on the board. He did look at me weird.
I told him I really do enjoy it on the board and the setlist threads are really fun!
We couldn't afford another show but we could squeeze him in if we could find a good deal on one ticket to get him in.
It worked... he went and had a great time!
So did I.... with you all here...."losers".
If that makes you all losers, then I am a loser too. :P

I'm glad he enjoyed her as well!

Oh... gotcha!
But I don't believe that it's helping him quit smoking... I'll believe it when I see it.
If it really works for him.... then... hell.... why not try it? Just kiddding... I'm not good at art so I'd just quit within a week even if I tried.
Thanks for the fun and thank you for putting up with my goofy self.
Hubby should be home shortly so better get my ass ready for a long 10 hours drive back home to Detroit!
Thank you, Nashville!!!
