    They need to just build special prisons or asylums for pedophiles. I understand that it's a mental problem and a sickness, but it's one that cannot be controlled or treated effectively and one thus one that our justice system is not equipped to handle. The recidivism rate for sex offenders is through the roof. Put them in their own prisons, off the streets where they can't hurt other kids and away from hardened criminals that will kill them. Isolate them. There is no other choice.

    Damn right they cant be cured, but not only that these judges that keep handing down these ridiculous sentences and sometimes only probation has got to stop. It's madness.

    Well whatever it screams it"s not right. jesus christ man the guy pleaded no contest and he already has 2 felonies and his duaghter came forword and said he raped her when she was a kid to. WTF :evil: :evil: If this guy is let out in September which he is scheduled to be something awful will happen to one of these kids.

    These pedophiles are very good at the hideous things they do to children. Back some years ago when I taught preschool and a school age soccer coach. We had an assistant who was able to molest our children while at the soccer field with parents standing right there on the sidelines.

    He was only caught when one of the children came forward only after she cried relentlessly after one soccer game. He was fined 500k and sentenced to 6 years, he served 3 and a half. To me he would've served less if not for the wealthy parents raising holy hell to get him proscecuted to the fullest.

    Let me ask you something..you got any kids ? you honestly think if this were the daughter of the judge.the D.A.,or the prosecutor this guy would have gotten a year ? Hell no.... He would have gotten at least 10 years if not more. one he pleaded no contest and and he already has 2 felonies (violent crimes)

    If this doesn't anger you then something is terribly wrong with you..

    No, I don't have any kids. But I do have a journalism degree. And I agree with Soulsinging. I don't think the story is giving all the facts.

    I did a little more research on the case and found out that the prosecutors had no DNA evidence and the victim was unable to testify. The prosecutors feared that without a plea, Earls would walk away with no punishment at all. They didn't think, within the framework of our legal system, they could convict him. Instead, he will serve a year and have to register as a sex offender and will be supervised for the next 19 years.

    Do I think one year is enough jail for a guy that rapes a kid? No. I don't. But my original post had nothing to do with pedophiles. It had more to do with people believing and reacting to whatever they are told, without even questioning it.
