A Question about Paperless Tickets

I was just thinking, since ticket distribution methods are always prominent discussions here.. this paperless ticket idea is great and all, but couldn't Ticketmaster potentially sell the same amount of tickets as usual to Ticketsnow, with or without physical tickets, and then Ticketsnow could potentially have a monopoly on the scalper's market as well, since they'd be the only ones able to use the paperless ticket system? Just a fear of mine.
