i had a good weekend goin at the beach and indulged in the usual beach activities of boozin and doin whatever you do.
went back to my condo and discovered a whirlpool
i threw on the headphones and decided to listen to binaural the whole way through
(disclaimer: do not use electronics in water..just sayin)
i think i've done it before but wasn't sure. i do really like binaural but never loved it like the others.
it just clicked. i mean i was in a trance listening to it. i never noticed all the subtleties til then. and ed's voice is perfect. so many weird little guitar tones goin on and matt kills it. plus the whole album is swirling down a drain somehow.
just blew my mind
im so lucky i get to be hit by an album so hard that i've been listening to for years

so i guess im sayin i like it
any other monumental music listening moments out there?
im really bored :)

A GREAT album, and oddly underrated in their catalog!

It "clicked" for me recently as well - at first I wasn't a fan. Then I realized it's not that I wasn't a fan - it's just that Evacuation was on the album!

thats real funny. my friend gave me an mp3 full of pj besides post ten and vs. the first album was binaural and i just didnt get the first couple songs..then i heard evacuation and thought i cant like this stuff and turned it off. that set me back a few years on the album.

AKA Best Song on the Album! :)
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Love this album; especially the 2nd half.

"Of the Girl" through "Parting Ways" is just so soild; some of the most diverse and powerful music the band has ever made.

Love the contrast between Stone's "Thin Air" (New Love) and Eddie's "Parting Ways" (Dying Love)

"Sleight of Hand" just takes you to a whole other world when you listen on headphones.

"Rival" is a total shit kicker and easily one of my favorite songs both live and on record.

Glad this finally clicked for you.

Can't wait for this to come back out on vinyl!!!

and on that note...more Binaural on the next tour pussies!! (right Brisk my boy?!!)

i find it interesting that it clicked with you in a summer/beach setting. i always thought of binaural as a fall album.

but no matter what season it is a tremendous album!

mind you thiswas after 2 full days of drinking and insane action and what not. i was dead tired, f'd up, not extremely happy, indoors with minimal light. it made sense

Great album (although no where near my favorite) but I will say that listening to it through headphones is extraordinary. I totally appreciate the subtlies that are picked up when listening through headphones. Cant really pick all that up when listening through an iPod plugged into some speakers. Makes me want to get a good pair of Bose headphones.
