Lets hear it for your world champion Lakers! It was a great season, Lakers had a 81-24 record overall, not bad. I think the Lakers have a great shot at repeating. I do not think the Cavs can fill all the holes in their lineup in one year, adding Shaq isn't enough in my opinion. The Celtics are gonna be the team to beat in the east next year and I do not see any team beating the Lakers in the west. So my very early prediction for next year is Lakers over Celtics in the NBA finals. You heard it here first.

Personally, I was able to make it to 7 Lakers playoff games this year (and had tickets to games 6 and 7 of the Finals, which will not be played), so I felt very, very privileged to be able to watch much of the championship run first-hand.
Congrats to the team and the fans. The Lakers brought home the trophy that BELONGS in L.A. and thus catapulted the team to team-of-the-decade status across all major North American sports.
Next up, the parade! (Please don't let any moronic people ruin it...)

Seeing a new era of Lakers / Celtics would be cool...
I just want to see Boston take it back next year. Although the Lakers will definitely be the ones to keep a watch on in the West, you are right about that.
Shaq for Cleveland is DEFNIITELY not enough...he should consider throwing in the towel soon...he can't hold on to it forever...

BTW... I watched game 4, that was an awesome game, very exciting and the Orlando fans were giving a great atmosphere. Didn't get the chance to see the other games. Thankfully we now get NBA games live on free to air TV now woo hoo.
GO BULLS!
It'll be between the C's and Cavs next year, imo. The Cavs'll get desperate to make sure they keep Lebron.
I don't see the Laker repeating. I think they'll have too many player satisfied.
The Lakers could very well have a dynasty on their hands. While all the rest of the contenders are getting old (the Spurs, Suns, Celtics, etc.), the Lakers are extremely young. Aside from Fisher and Kobe (who is only 30, believe it or not), their other key players are all younger guys who have not hit the ceiling of their potential yet. Ariza is 23, Gasol is 28, Odom is 29, Bynum is 21, Farmar is 22. Plus they have two great leaders in Kobe and Phil who will not let the team get too "satisfied."
Bynum has shown flashes of brilliance that have only been derailed by freakish injuries. If he can stay healthy and get back to his pre-injury forms, it will be like adding a star center to a team that is already extremely talented. When can you remember a championship team adding a star center to their just-crowned team?
Bringing Shaq into Cleveland will only make a marginal difference for the Cavs. His presence inside will clog up the lane for Lebron, whereas Ilgauskas was a very talented jump shooter who forced teams to keep tabs on him on the perimeter. Plus, Shaq is, what, 37? Although he had a decent season last year, his performance has been slipping and will only continue to do so with age (not a prediction, just a realistic view of what happens when players hit their late 30's).
Let's face it, the Lakers will be the favorites next season. Although nothing is guaranteed, they certainly have to be given the strongest chance to be champions again when the final whistle blows next year.
