    That was a great read, thanks. So sad that some people just suck so much.

    I love NIN and Trent. It makes me sad that they weren't be touring anymore after this but the one show I did get to see was BRILLIANT.

    after reading that again it makes me wonder - in fact i think it should be a mandatory read for every fan on this board... what are we doing to ed and the boys by pigeonholing them in this idealistic ghost of PJ past? if it was driving trent this crazy to constantly be compared to his old miserable self then how must PJ feel to constantly be compared to their past? if we want PJ to last we have to get our acts together, ya know? im sure they know our hearts are in the right place, but theres no reason to filter through so much shit around here

    most honest perspective ive ever read from an artist... doesnt pussyfoot around hurting some "hardcore" fans' feelings but it was certainly something he needed to say. i know im happy for him and think his music has the same intensity and longvetiy even in good health and spirits.

    reminds me of the conversation that always comes up around here about whether or not AIC wouldve been successful if layne had gotten clean and they kept at it. everyones always saying "no all their music was about drugs, etc." but i think trent is the best example that its possible. we'll never know though

    really looking forward to see what trent has for us in the future... wouldnt mind him focusing on some producing for awhile... then a nice collaboration with mark lanegan would be cool :mrgreen:

    I respect Trent for his honesty. While I believe that a few on this board (or any other board) could take a moment to read the post, I doubt very seriously they would take anything away from it. Most people create this internet persona and then slowly become it. Some are just ass-hats to begin with.

    i love trent reznor, and his music. you can definitely hear him change and mature through his music, and to read something like that only makes me respect him even more.

    Trent is my hero for posting this.

    I knew a person like the one he's talking about. She always got back stage to every concert she ever went to and claimed to be friends with various rock stars. I went with her once and you could tell they didn't give a damn about her. She had nothing nice to say about anyone. If you didn't behave the way she expected you to, she would fly into a rage and threaten and scream and would be so full or hate it was frightening beyond words. A very odd way to express "affection"...Weirdo...

    So, good for Trent to tell it like it is....

    Yup. This should be used in the writing of a terms of agreement type document for this board. There is some serious bullshit that floats around here.
