Hoping to hear "Last Kiss" tonight in Baltimore
I met my wife in '99 and during our first month together, I sang PJ's version of this song to her over the phone as she fell asleep. I thought she was alseep and I didn't know she was listening and then the next day she mentioned it to me and I was a little embarrassed. We were teenagers back then, slowly falling in love. I have never sang to her since and she always claims I have a beautiful voice, just from this one song. I haven't sung to her since. (I'm not about to taint my reputation and ruin that moment!)
I realize that this isn't a typical love song, but it does hold special meaning to the two of us. We've been to over a dozen Pearl Jam shows since and we have not been able hear "Last Kiss" played live. Last year, we skipped to DC to catch them in Camden and the song WAS played in D.C. =(
Well, ten years later... here's hoping that Ed plays it tonight.
