Eddie's Baltimore Gig Last Night

Hey all

For those who are going to see him tonight, I just wanted to give a shout out and please ask you to respect the man. Twice now I've had the fortune to see him on tour with Liam (last year at the Warner), and there seems to be a select few that want to ruin it for the rest of us. Eddie blantanly refered to them as drunken loudmouths (of course in his stern but pleasant manner) last night with their continual barrage of stupidity. It got to the point where he stopped half way his reverb (Arc) as he "wasn't feeling it". I can't help but think the minority of bad "fans" in the crowd had an influence. It's a shame because that piece is amazing.

For the rest of you who are considerate and just want to hear the great man play, I sincerely hope you have an awesome time and that there is the level of respect around you that you and Eddie deserve.

Dwayne

P.S. He and Liam were both amazing :)

Bummer dude. Its hard to understand how there are so many obnoxious dumb asses amongst us. I've been quite shocked that the yelling and interuptions have continued on and on. Its just not how I see the typical PJ fan behaving. That's too bad. If folks were screaming shit durring arc... Im certain that's why Ed stopped.

Very sorry to hear about the dumb asses, and I agree with TipJammer, true fans do not behave like that, (they wait until after the show!) If the dumb asses came to "see what all the fuss is about", hopefully they went home as fans and it was a first and last time they will be dumb asses during the show......(PS) Good Luck tonight!

I dont think that was the case at all.. he stopped ARC because he was having technical difficulties, nothing to do with the fans... he actually seemed to like some of the things that the fans were saying.... I think some of the talk in the crowd makes the show a more exciting .... Just to see some reaction from ed.....

The people last night were MUCH better behaved than at either night at the Warner in DC last year.... I thankful Ed said something, even though "It doesn't bother me, but it bothers the people around you so I feel like it's my job to say something"

Don't blame the crowd for Arc - if it was the crowd's fault, there is no way he would have sang Arc at the Warner last year. He just wasn't feeling it; its a very touchy feely emotional song with strong significance so if he wasn't feeling it, he wasn't feeling it! Maybe he was just excited to play Hard Sun and his mind was wandering :p

  • Perhaps he just wasn't feeling it, and there were some shenadigans last year at the Warner I agree, but you'd think the second time around people would get it right? The lights did go out but he was still able to loop the song. He even said he had never ever had that happen before with regards to doing Arc. Personally, I think he's probably truly sick of the unruly few (even if he says he doesn't care- I bet he does). Just a shame that he has to speak to some in the crowd as if they were 5 year olds. I wonder if Bob Dylan or Neil Young copped this crap on stage? I'm too young to truly know! Overall, it was just disappointing to go through the same crap again. Being in the Ten Club, and where I was sitting, there were no meat heads around me but I had friends in the balcony that had part of the night ruined. I feel bad for them. At least the set list was awesome and Eddie was awesome.

I guess I was lucky last night. The drunk guy next to me just passed out throughout the entire show. Guy on the other side was humming off key and off tempo, but hey he was having a great time. All in all I thought Ed was in great form, and good spirits, except for the end.

That's cool... not too bad. What up with all the peeps getting so drunk at these things? Have a few... not an entire keg. Come on now.

I was at Baltimore and agree with dwayne. He was definitely 'off''. He couldn't remember the lyrics to 'gone', didn't finish 'arc' and his guitar wasn't working during 'hard sun'. I was in the front row and the experience was almost ruined by a jackass in the 2nd row from South Africa. This guy was wasted, singing off key, belching and screaming back at Eddie the whole show. If the fans from South Africa act this way, no wonder Eddie and/or PJ never go!

I've been to several Eddie shows and Baltimore wasn't his best. Let's hope Memphis kicks! See ya'll there!
