Finally met Ed yesterday

Waiting outside b4 the show Ed, walked out and shook hands with everyone outside. He also signed a few things on the bus......I got my DEEP MAGAZINE signed woohoo. He did chat with a few people really quick, it was just awesome.

    Although I feel like shit today I am probably one of the happiest people int the world today. He was such a nice guy.....all I could say was thank you....I wanted to say more but I was kinda in awe. Him signing my deep magazine meant so much to me.

    This may sound stupid but when he sang RISE lastnight all I could do is think about my dog who I put down 2 weeks ago from cancer. I posted about it 2 weeks ago, but for some reason it just struck a cord with me and I don't know y.
    Anyway such a good night

    Yea 30+ shows here too. I did shakes his hand in HOLMDEL 2003 when I had front row seats but it was nothing like yesterday.

    Thats what I did when I met him after Albany night 2. He finally came out to meet us around 12:45am.

    i have been trying for years now......thats so cool ...i just want 45 seconds with the guy..just to tell him thank you for the wonderful ride and for keepin my head straight........and a hand shake and a sig would be cool to get.......ill be honest the older im getting the more i wanna meet him......im 33 now and when i feel like a little school girl when conert time comes around...its just one more chance to TRY nd meet him


    anyone have a clue about and where to try and meet him when they leave the untied center in chi town

    I think it was around 4ish he went in for the soundcheck. He did sign stuff for us on the bus then he came out for a few minutes. Sorry really can't help to much more it was my first time after 30+ shows. So I am not much of an expert just dumb luck.

    i saw his security handing signed items to people, so i'm assuming he collected them and brought them onto the bus for ed to sign. i'm so glad i cam back a few minutes later and actually got to interact even for just a brief second with the man and shake his hand. i will never ever forget him looking up at me, giving me the nod of acknowledgment and then shaking his hand as i looked into his ray-bans.

    He signed my DEEP MAGAZINE the latest one. I was going to bring my cover to the boxset but figured it was to big to lug around. I should have went with my instincts.
    Very happy though

    I was in the front row outside his bus last nite. He came and and seemed truly in awe that so many people would wait to see him. He started at one end, shaking hands and talking to as many people as he could reach. The whole time I'm thinking, what do you say to someone who has meant so much to your life. So I told him that my fav pj song is Love Boat Captain to which he asked if I had seen them do it with the African kids. He told a couple stories about how the kids had never heard themselves sing before and teaching the kids how to eat pizza. He does one of those handshakes that hangs on for a few seconds like he really cares to be there with you. Unbelievable. Today, I can think of nothing else but replaying those few minutes in my mind. This was a dream come true.... :D:D

    Night 1 in Philly , he walked up the ramp about 1225 . Jesse , his Security said no autographs and that Ed will be shaking hands and saying a few words. Night 2 was similar time and circumstance ,except for the no hugs rule in effect. As it turned out it was an almost no hugs rule. This time, he was already on the bus . He stepped off and went and shook hands with folks and talked with each fan individually . Priceless !!

    Same here, he came out before the albany show and did the same. He didnt shake my hand but he said peace to me and did the little peace sign with his hand. I couldn't believe it, definately something Ill never forget.

    CONGRATULATIONS to all you hardcore hangers by the Magic Bus.
    I couldnt stand anymore in the heat and humidity that is Philly.
    ( in this case Upper Darby )
    I left about 12 10 and i regret not sticking it out another 15 minutes or so .
    I thought once I saw ed clearly thru the window on the bus,
    then they drew the curtain, put on TV in the bus,
    i thought well, i guess it just wasnt meant to be this night / early morning.


    Now I know for next time, ( if there ever is a next time )

    PS Did anybody by the Bus find a discarded ticket ?
    Seems I dropped mine and didnt realize it.,...... and it had my name printed on it and such , i really wanted to keep this as a momento . If found by some millionth of a precentage and chance, please shoot me a PM. My name is Andrew.

    Cheers to everyone who's been getting a chance to interact with Ed!

    I must say he's been much more social with the fans this leg of his solo tour than the last. It was almost like clockwork when he came out after Albany 2 an hour and a half after the show to shake everyone's hands. But last summer in Montreal, I caught him by pure luck as he used an alternate exit from the venue and nowhere near the fans at his bus. I happened to leave the group of fans on route to find a pub. Only 5 people of us were lucky enough to meet and greet with him then, but it was a lot more personal that way also. But much more difficult to pull off!

    Curious how many things did he sign on the bus would you say..

    I'd say about 10 to 15 items were signed. We were all suprised about so none of us were really prepared. I had a deep magazine, a guy had an old Rolling Stone magazine but everyone else had concert tickets which was funny because everyone had to remember who had what ticket. It was great though.....I was making jokes saying his daughter was probably signing all the items....lol.

    Bro I totally get it .Last summer RISE was and still is a huge part of our lives when we put down our 16 yr old dog.amazing how the songs on that cd have struck a chord.Thanks and keep the spirt alive .I love to look at picsof our girl and remember the good times.
