Ten Club Pulling Plug On Youtube

I understand the whole no cameras allowed therefore there should be no posting of pics or vids here.(E.V solo shows all pulled by tenclub from youtube)But whats the big deal with the yotube vids? I mean nobody will say if these shows will ever be released as a bootleg or dvd, and anyone who got a vid paid good money to go in and see a show they will want to always remember. Are the youtube vids gonna really hurt any type of pre-sale or marketing of a possible bootleg if there ever is one?( which I really hope there will be) And if so, do you really think we wouldn't purchase something cuz we've seen 3 minute clips on youtube. I mean DAMN.. I've spent over $2000 the past year or so for these solo shows, and i cant even come home and watch a two minute clip of something i might have missed??? Please somebody " in the know" Let us know if there is even an idea of the possibility of future releases of EV shows. I cant afford every show and my brain is starting to hurt from trying to remember it all. ROCKIN IN THE FREE WORLD!!!!!!!!!

Or you can come to terms and realize

Maybe either let us record ourselves or release something official.
This Chinese Government-type censorship on the vids and bootlegs is going in the wrong direction, especially for PJ

I do agree that from a viral marketing standpoint that some YouTube vids would only create more good buzz but its their choice.
"You need the patience of like a National Geographic photographer sitting underneath the bush in a tent, trying to get a picture of zebras fucking or something for the first time." -Eddie Vedder
its gotta be his call right?
Thanks just really sad. Seriously Ten Club? If it's outside in a public place they have NO RIGHT to pull that down. The inside clearly said no cameras. You can shoot whatever you want outside.
you tube gets hits and thus dollars for its content
but the artist does not get a nickel
I have no problem with the artists choosing what they will allow to be free on the net
how would you feel if youtube was making money off your image, in concert or on the street, and not giving you a nickel or any creative control?
personally, I think there will be a DVD and ED just doesnt want the low quality vids of his performances circulating, but I think its also the unauthorized, unlicensed, use of his image.
ed and the band have always supported bootlegging for personal use- broadcasting concert footage or other stuff (meeting ed on the street say) on youtube is not really part of that
so enjoy your vids on your computer, burn copies for friends,
but dont publicly post em
you are correct, but you dont have the right to publicly post it on the internet
two different things amigo
Then how do sites like TMZ get away with posting celebrity videos?
If TMZ posted something, and PJ management complained, they would argue first amendment right to free speech, that EV is a celebrity and that anything he does is news and publishable.
Its get much more complicated when you are talking about copyrighted songs or licensed material.
You tube does not present itself as journalism as far as I know, and that is part of why they take down content.
But a party who posted a youtube vid of Ed on the street might have a valid claim if willing to pursue it that far.
But if someone did, Ed would never do it again.
I don't get your logic.
It's OK to remove them from here, where we are all paid Ten Club members, but they should be allowed
on public sites with global exposure?
I'm not happy with the no cameras/no taping policy, but it's Ed's choice.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me...
