I dont think we will have any more album news until...

Ed has finished his solo tour.

There are rumours that we may have a new single come early July which would conincide with Ed finishing up his tour and then we may get some more info re: artwork, tracklist, official release date, more interviews and reviews etc...

It would make sense anyway!

Thier appearance on Conan was obviously a tease for us all and we expected some more info re: album and tour but obviously their appearance was an opportunistic one which they took up beacuse it weas the right thing to do before Ed went on his tour / and it was Conans opening night! Needless to say it got everyone talking thats for sure.

    yah im sure youre right... not much they can do with ed so busy nor would they want to overshadow the solo shows... and im sure the rest of the guys are just enjoying their last few months of freedom and relaxation with their families

    i guess ill have to be content with following the setlist thread until july... times going SOOOOO slow

While Vedder seems most excited by the idea of short, fastsongs - citing Guided by Voices as an inspiration - his bandmates emphasize other parts of the recors. "There's plenty of ballads, too," says Stone Gossard. "And there's some shifts in how Jeff And Matt and I are all relating - I think this record's got a chance to sound significantly different." Adds Ament, "There's a couple of great things that Ed brought in that could be real departures for us. Whatever wave Ed caught with 'Into the Wild' has taken him to different places." Frontman Eddie Vedder "put rough vocals on about half the stuff we worked on in December," says bassist Jeff Ament. "There's a handful of really great lyrics. Lyrically, that stuff is in the embryonic stage, but there's a handful of lines and a couple of choruses that are just really great. He keeps getting better." Oh, man. There’s some really good stuff happening right now and it’s just starting to happen. The basic tracks are all kind of done. There are rough vocals. That stuff is getting tidied up. There are some keyboards and percussion things going on right now. It’s kind of just starting, but there’s a song called “The Fixer” that I think is really incredible."

    I dunno what prompted you to piece that together but thank you... I am now in need of a tissue to clean up what just happened in my jeans.

    Although it is still early, I kinda feel as if PJ is doing less interviews than previously and not pumping the album up as much as past records.

    they will be when ed finishes up the tour & everyone is back together again! :)

    Well, they are finally out from underneath of that jaugernaut of a company (sony), so maybe they will pull the reigns back on the interviews and self promotion. As far I know, Tommy Mottola isn't the CEO of Target, so I'm sure they have the most freedom of their careers right now.
