A crow just stole my crackers!

One of my small joys is on a sunny day, like today, eat my salad on a small bistro table outside my store under the overhang roof. I left my salad unattended for 5 minutes, and when I return, a crow is eye-level with me by the table, and I can tell he's thinking about my salad.

He flies to the gutter as I sit down. As I look around to find the two small packages of crackers that I thought fell on the ground, I look up to see the crow flying away, and in his beak I see the glisten of the red and green cellophane wrappers of two Town House cracker packages. Left unattended I'm sure he would have taken the plastic container with my salad.

But seriously, Mr Crow, you don't have fingers. How are you going to open the package? ha HA!

(yes, you are now probably dumber for having read this :lol: )

    A few months back I was sitting on a patio with some friends at this Mexican restaurant. There were these birds that were sitting on this railing just watching everyone. Then these two birds flew over to one of the empty tables and each pulled out a Sweet & Low packet and flew off. A few minutes later, they came back and grabbed another Sweet & Low packet and flew off. They ignored the sugar and Equal packets, but kept coming back for the pink Sweet & Low packets. They took all of them from the table then came back to another table and did the same thing. LOL!

    Reminds of my senior trip when we were at a beach front restaurant. We were all sittin around eatin when a friend that stayed behind came walkin up, from the beach and we just couldn't resist the chance to feed the seagulls. It was awesome.

    Really, the crow saw that you are David Hasselhoff and it wanted to poop on your head or swoop down and peck you ;)

    Corvids (Ravens, Crows and Jays) are some of the smarter animals on the planet.....he'll get those packages up....he has a sturdy beak and talons. :twisted:

    Probably using them as construction material on their nest....attracted to the color more so than the contents would be my guess

    I have a parrot - a rather big one. If I don't serve him something warm, he'll drop it, let alone something covered in plastic. Looks like I've got a spoiled bird, if nothing else!

    It's hard not to feed a pet who can ask for the food in english. :)
