0 and 8 against Boston! WTF?

Girardi needs to be canned already! If Hank was still running things he would have been gone after going 0 and 5 against Boston. With 2 men on and no outs in the 8th with a lead why wouldn't you put in your best pitcher, Rivera, in that situation?
I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.

Why make a change at this point when you're only 2 games out. Play the season out see where things fall, it's not like the Yanks are going to run out money anytime soon.

I wouldn't be worried either if the Red Sox were 2 games out so let the games be played and we shall see.

not bringing rivera in was the right decision. but letting CC start the 8th was not.
  • yea there 100 games left...blah blah blah. That was weak and pathetic. Yanks are softies still. No heart and drive. They win, but they've lead me to believe its because there is so much natural talent on the team its impossible not to win at times. But scrap & will to win? Haven't seen it in at least 4 -5 years.

There's no way Paul O'Neil, Scott Brisious, Bernie Williams can even bare to watch. O'Neil would've thrown water coolers all over fenway. Then hit a monster homer after A-rod gets plunked.

ha! yeah, O'neil was an animal. Nice guy too - one of the only pro athletes/celebrity that i've ever met. I ran into him in a mall in south florida and he was very cool. He played with sooo much passion. in fact, in my brief encounter with him, i commented to him on how I saw him sprint to the outfield between innings in a spring training game. that guy always gave 110%, and i wish the current players would do the same.

They have a dynamite lineup, but as crap a bullpen save Rivera as you'll find, hence Sabathia trying to pitch 8 innings.
Amazing that Shallow Hal and Mr. Hankey won't spend on some bullpen help with all the cash they throw at superstars.

thankfully hank isn't running things. a rash firing is something out of the 1980s and the days of getting a six-out save in the regular season for rivera are also over.

    I definitely agree with this.
