Most places drop extra tickets on the day of the show.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do

I am amazed people get shocked by this ... there's a thread for EVERY show that's pretty much the same situation.

Sounds like I may be looking for an empty seat in the front of the balcony on Thursday night that is better than my back row lower level seat that I bought on day 1.

Yes, I agree. This has happened at every show I've been to and always excellent seats. I never take the chance though and always try to get tix before the day of the show. It does piss you off that you take all the trouble to get tickets the minute they go on sale and then great tickets show up a few days or the day of!!

I was going to say the same thing....Is this the first time people have ever bought concerts for any event held after 1989?

Its real simple...on the initial onsale, sprinkle a few good seats in amongst some of the worse seats in the house as people somehow think they are almost sold out and buy up the back of the house. As time goes by, drop in a few tickets here and there, and put the best ones (not given to band/fan clubs/etc....and PJ is one of just a few fan clubs who truly do get the best seats) out a day before or the day of the show.

Ideally, most promoters (PJ is a bit different as they get the best seats) prefer to sell large blocks, even sections at a time to corporate accounts, when they can't, they find their way on to the brokers sites, and then eventually back at face value.

I can't wait for tomorrow's...."OMG, there are tickets available for tonights show....WHY?????"
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.
