I think I read 130 or so dead somewhere.

This number is nowhere near the NEED for mandatory vaccinations, however I believe that we could be a media hype-storm away from people choosing to get pricked for their own safety.

This is why we can never have universal health care.

Because the media will scare millions of Americans into going to the doctor for no reason. The cost will sink the system.

Heard a doctor on the radio today say during the earlier swine flu panic, he saw about a thousand patients who "thought they had swine flu." Of course, zero did. Most of them just had seasonal allergies.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do

How about $40 copay, and if you're not sick, $100 on top. :)

Something like 700 people die every week from the regular flu.. I don't get what's so bad about this one.

Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

There was a Rugby League team doctor talking about it last night. A few players have been diagnosed and quarantined over the last week. He was saying that its just like a normal flu. There concern was that it was a new strain and they didn't know if average human being would have the anti bodies in their system to fight it. He was saying that it seems that they do but of course he didn't dismiss it as just a normal flu either.

Ummmmmmm......where to begin with what is wrong with this?

First of all, there is no year of the chicken.
Second, the year of the horse was 2002
Third, the year of the rooster(or cock if you want to be vulgar! ) was 2005

Unless of course you are being sarcastic, I don't know what to think!

Well, what was bad was that they didn't know what to expect...so they didn't know how bad it could be. Also, the majority of people effected are ages 5-25...with the second highest group those that are <5...so it is effecting a different population then most flus. BUt that being said, I think that they know understand that the effects of this flu are not more severe than the average flu. They are concerned however that it will come back in the fall and be more potent.
