So I bought a BlackBerry curve from someone who didn't need it anymore. I had a Voyager but broke the touch screen. Anyway I am finally getting used to it but can't figure out what "phone only" means on the ringer settings. Can anyone help? I am sure I will have more questions later.

  • phone only - means it will only ring/alert for a phone call, not a text message, sms or email.
  • That's what I thought then it didn't ring at all when I called it.

Now, is there a way to delete text messages all at once instead of 1 at a time?

Yeah. When you go into your messages, scroll to the date and click on the button to the left of the ball (not sure what that button is called....I just recently got a blackberry too) and then go to "delete prior" and it will delete everything prior to that date.

I am digging my new Curve. I really like that it plays video and audio files, Youtube and video sites, a well as the NFL Live Mobile. Has a 2 mega pixel camera and a video camera.

  • Alright, here I go again.

How the HELL do I change the ringtone?
How do I change the email alerts, text alerts, ect?
    What is a SMS text?
    What is a MMS?
    What does compose PIN mean?
Is there a way to keep emails out of the mailbox and keep them just in the email icon?

I could look this shit up, but I tried, good luck with that shit.

I have the Curve 8330 smartphone, if it makes a difference.

Ring tone is changed in the Advanced settings under profile. You can change the ring tone for every profile.
E-mail alerts and text alrerts, also in the profile settings.
SMS stands for Simple Message System...or something like that. That IS Text Messaging.
Don't know what MMS is....maybe Multimedia Message System?
PIN is like e-mail or text messaging. No character limit on PIN as there is on SMS (text). You have to know another person's PIN number to PIN someone.
Not sure about keeping emails out of main mailbox.

I love my curve. I had the chance to upgrade to the Storm at work, but once I messed around with it I was very disappointed. I decided to hold off until the 2nd gen., and I'm glad I did. I hear nothing but complaints from the ones who had to have it.

As for my personal phone, in August my contract is up with Verizon and I think I'm going to get the iphone but I'm worried that I will hate AT&T. Good or bad? Inquiring minds want to know.

Storm is the biggest steaming pile of crap phone on the market today! I love Blackberry but I will probably never go with one again based on how crap the Storm is. Did they even test this piece of shit before they put it on the market?
