A Wisconsinites(Sconnie's) First Post
So I'm one of those people who didn't renew their membership in time, I think more than once(not funny)....but not because I'm a half hearted fan or anything. This happened because for a while in my 20's I was a piece of shit with little direction= no money=no computer= out of touch with PJ world. Maybe I should apologize right now because this is going to be a somewhat long post. I will call this my first true post, although I have posted simple questions in the past but never dove into any real discussions. I do however read the forums all the time to get a sense of what everybody is feeling/thinking about the topic of interest at that time.
Anyway, I'm 31 years old, live in Wisconsin, married with a 2 year old son and have been a fan since my freshman year in high school...I guess that would be shortly after Ten came out. I've bought every record, read every article I could get my hands on, blah blah blah, pretty much everything all of you have done because I was hooked from day one. On the other hand I've only been to shows at Alpine Valley(2000 & 2003 I think) don't berate me if I have the dates wrong. I believe the 2000 show was in October and I know it was fucking freezing, great show though. I was also at the Summerfest show 07(I think) in Milwaukee when they opened for Tom Petty which was a bit of a let down because they didn't play the normal 22-28 songs I'm used to on every bootleg. The show was still amazing but TP should've opened for PJ even though it was a annniversary tour...but hey that's a different discussion.
Oh, and last but not least, I was fortunate enough to get second row at the EV solo show in Milwaukee through the Ten Club(Hail Hail the 10c). It was an awesome show even though some fucking idiots tried to ruin it and give us a bad name...I don't know....may be they were from Minnesota.
So it's my sister's birthday on August 24th and Im taking her to her first ever PJ show on Sunday August 23rd in Chicago. It's gonna be a surprise. She will not know until we get there. Hopefully the seats will be good even though I'm like 159,xxx. Any guesses on where?
Sorry for the long post but I guess that's how introductions go. I hope to get to know a few of you and let's party in Chi-Town on 8/23/09!

I'm 19 years gone and still call it home- also saw eddie in my "hometown"- unfortunately in the balcony but in the house- it was awesome- must have been wonderful seeing ARC up close like that.
See you in Chi town after a few party days in Milwaukee
You let your membership lapse twice and this is your number? How exactly did you manage that?
Them's fightin' words! Welcome anyway.
Welcome aboard.
I have a few more questions though, and hopefully someone out there will know the answers.
When driving to Chicago for the show on 8/23 would anyone recommend taking the train from the park n ride near Ohare? I've read some things about there not being a stop very close to the UC and that I might have to first take a train and then a bus. Or would it just be better to drive my car right to the UC? Any information or tips would be appreciated.
I know we can pick up our tickets starting at like 11am but when do the doors actually open? Is it worth going in as soon as they open the doors? I'm guessing nobody is allowed in for the sound check but it's wishful thinking.
Good points. My seats have always been good at the few shows I've attended. I was dead center at Alpine valley but towards the back...row kk or something but it's outdoors, under a pavillion and bowl shaped. I've never seen them inside so it will be interesting to hear the difference. And you're right about just being happy to be there... I'll never complain. Just hoping the seats are good for my sister's first show.

There is a parking structure right across the street where the pre-party will be. From there its a maybe a 5-8 min walk to the wonderful UC. I just woke up here so I'm a little foggy. But checkout the Chicago pre-party thread and if any parking info it listed there. It's a decent size parking garage and the all day parking price wasn't too bad. Anyway welcome again and nice seeing another Wisconsin PJ fan on here.
