Gomez Opening A Few Shows For Pearl Jam This Year?

edited June 2009 in The Porch
Hey guys, was just skimming over the Gomez forums and saw this post:
Got to talk to Blackie for a few minutes after the Pittsburgh show the other night. We talked about the album recording sessions that were held at Dave Matthews Band's studio in Charlottesville and I asked him what the rest of 2009 looked like after the summer.

He said the band is likely going to be doing shows in Australia and doing some opening sets for Pearl Jam. After that, they plan to go across the U.S. again in fall of this year. So good news for all of us and for our friends down under.

Cheers!

Now I don't know what shows in particular or if this has any credibility - but if Gomez is opening in Toronto that would be probably the best show I'll ever see.

I have been waiting for that for over 10 years. Would be absolutely ecstatic to see it happen!!

They deserve the break for sure! And their live performance is really really good

note: Gomez has mentioned how much thye love PJ a few times in the past
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Would prefer a band from Manchester called Oceansize!

Or a solo artist from the US called Ed! ;)

Lets just hope it happens and the boys from Mez weren't blowing smoke. Usually they tell their fans whats up and they're all very approachable.
