Ten Club Seniority

Is it relevant / does it matter anymore? It seems that the band has moved toward randomly assigned member seating and away from better seats being given to lower member numbers.

I ask because I got a TC membership due reminder in my email today and it advertised that I should re-register to maintain my seniority. So I'm wondering - does seniority still matter?

if ya doing any european shows, you don't need to worry about 'seniority' as GA standing & running/crashing to the front is the way it goes at those show's. :|

If your number is lower than 180xxx than no. It doesn't matter, so go ahead and let your number expire... :D

Seriously, it doesn't matter for GA shows (which are rare in the US), or EV shows, but for any seated PJ show it still matters.

Also if you are really lucky to have a super low number there can be surprise benefits. Like those lucky few who got e-mails about attending the VH1 Storrytellers taping.

that sucks but i guess it's what he gets for being about as irresponsible as one can be. they are probably worried he'll crash into PJ's tour bus and kill the band.

He can ask for a pardon and be allowed to enter...after all Dubya came here  and I am sure we would rather have your husband visit than him.

See you in Chicago! :D

I am not getting any indication at all that the band is moving away from seniority seating.

From pearljam.com/tenclub it states:

SEATING

* Seat location is not revealed until tickets are collected on the day of the show.
* Priority fan club tickets are allocated by seniority. Ten Club reserves the
right to make exceptions to this policy.
* We reserve the best seats in the house for fan club tickets, starting from the first row on the floor and extending back. We also reserve the side sections closest to the stage when necessary. All Ten Club tickets are for reserved seating unless otherwise announced.
* Group seating is not an option, but your pair of tickets will be seated together.
* Wheelchair accessible seating is available through the Ten Club pre-sale. If you require ADA seating, please contact us directly at tickets@tenclub.net or 1-800-724-8038.
* General Admission tickets purchased through the fan club will allow fan club members early entry into the venue whenever possible. Members will receive wristbands which will authorize early entry. Ten Club reserves the right to make changes to this policy when deemed necessary.

Does your TC # actually appreciate over time? I remember reading on here, at some point, that people's numbers improve as the members ahead of them let it lapse. Is this true? Mine hasn't changed in the years since I joined and same goes for a friend who has been a member for a while. Maybe the # just stays the same even though it is actually appreciating?

exactly - depending on where your number is located in the food chain, it's just a matter of time,...
